    office to office

What do you all think of the work space you occupy? Can you describe it? is your office something you designed to complement your personality and spirit, is it designed to create a certain impression for your customers, an image? what's the image your looking for and did you hit the mark?

are you in a cubical or a spare bedroom or closet under the steps? corner office, do you have a view?

How important is your office? just a place to hang your hat and make calls or, your second home? Do you have bar in your office or some entertaining area? how about a view? what do you see when you look out?

do you sit in a comfortable chair or a wooden stool?

are you happy with it? if you had your "rathers" what would it be?

    ok, that's my question.

My office does not cater to visitors, I share it with the guy next to me, and it's a pretty crampted work space, but the view out the window from 39,000 feet is very nice.
Conservative opinions from someone who thinks a little differently than most.

Well, I "work from my dorm room" (and I'm pretty sure it's smaller than the common cubicle) but I've discovered that it's really important for me to change my location to be productive which I think might be an important factor for all people who work from home. In my room, I get distracted by the television, books, other homework, phone calls, etc. If I go to the coffeeshop or pub or library to work, I tend to get a lot more done.

Maybe that's why you hear about successful startups from the garage and not the living room

I have a fulltime job and that office pretty much becomes homebase should I get in a groove and not want to head home just yet. Then the laptop becomes the mobile office on the T (boston public transportation system) heading home, and when I get home, I find myself in another office here.

I also partake in Meaghan's system where I will bring the laptop and materials to Cigar Masters, a cigar bar in Boston, to have a few smokes and get some work banged out.
