    Talking New home office

So I'm finally turning an extra room of our house into a home office for my businesses. This is a much cheaper route than renting a suite in an office building and works just as well since I use a UPS box for the business address anyhow. Plus I can just roll out of bed and hit the office in my boxers as opposed to getting all dressed up and driving in the Minnesota winters.

I ended up receiving a desk that I had wanted for about a year and a half now but could never justify purchasing for Christmas. Late last night we finally put that desk together and I moved the PC, printer, cabinets, and others into the new room. As you can tell it is still a mess with the cords down below and such, just making sure that I like everything how it is before I tie them down.

I have a few wall banners from various brands I sell on the way plus mesh shelving units for inventory. I'm also looking for a bookshelf as all of my PC and Ecom books are presently stacked on the floor.

I'll keep updating this thread with pictures as the office takes shape

    Sweet, Audit flag.

Be very careful with the home office deduction. Huge audit flag for sole proprietorships.

If, however, you had an s-corp, you could rent that space to yourself at standard office leasing rates. One of many benefits of an s-corp.

First I would like to say hello to a fellow Minnesota person (st. Paul here, soon to be somewhere in coon rapids) and I would like to say congrats on your office. May I ask where you bought the desk? When I move in the next couple of months I plan on buying myself a nice big l shaped desk like that but I plan on going for wood I think.

Hey journey - this board is full of minnesotan's . The desk was from Office Max, in the $150 range I believe so it's pretty affordable. The L desk is so much nicer than my previous since there's more room to work with and I tend to spread out all over the place.

I know this is off subject, but when you first started working out what were you maxing? Right now, I'm 16 years old, 152 lbs, 5ft 8 and last time i checked about 13-12% BF. I am max benching 200, I keep trying 210 about every other week but I can't seem to get it. I work out 5 days a week M-F. I work a different muscle each day. My work outs are usually from 45 minutes to about an hour. I haven't started any supplements and have been liftin for about a year now. Roughly 5 or 6 months of actually going at it 5 days a week. I just would like to know what I am looking at in the next few years, and do you have any tips on how I can reach my max to 210 it seems I get it half way up and just can't go any more?

I know this was about your new office, congrats by the way, looking good. I just am into liftin and saw your max, and read up on your blog.

Not a bad start with your office! I would recommend mounting some glass shelves above your desk- that would really set everything off.

We just moved into the home we've been building, and I should have my home office set up within a couple of weeks. I have a pretty nice natural-colored oak desk, that matches our red-oak hardwood floor. I finally get to get my 21" Hi-Def LCD and comp up and running!

Also, seeing as how this thread has turned into a thread about working out- Keep up with the working out guys! I worked out for 3+ years, and ended up tearing most of the muscles in my shoulder benching 365 at a competition. Nevertheless, I'm getting ready to get back into the lifestyle (after a 2 year break, including boot camp, working, and college). When I started, I had trouble benching 115, lol. I developed my own work out schedule based on a number of football workout programs. I got to 210 about a month later, and repping 300+ less than a year after that.

Pacific - NP, I like to talk about lifting . Congrats on pushing 200lbs, that is usually a mental plateu for most people - and not bad at all for a 16 year old. PM me a copy of your diet and routine if you get the chance, there are always holes that can be fixed (and diet is usually a huge one) to help achieve your weight lifting / athletic goals. Also, lifting 5 days per week for a long period of time is really taxing on your body. Even if it is a different muscle each day, it takes a toll. You might benefit by taking a week off here and there to let your body recover, as hard as that is, and even drop the lifting down to a condensed 3 or 4 days per week. I continue to see gains lifting just 3 times per week, and training for a sport the other 2.

    - Glass shelving is an awesome idea. I have mesh shelving for some in-stock inventory and a bookcase which are both off screen - but glass shelving to the right would certainly rock!

Saajan - the PC is fat. It's a mid sized tower in a custom Kingkwin case. That case cost me a small fortune a couple of years ago but has a great tooless entry system with a removable motherboard tray. I like it alot. The pics probably don't provide a good picture of that case but it's acrylic, steel, has a glass plate in front with a couple different temperature controls mounted.
