    New guy here

Figured I would come out and officially introduce myself. My name is Kenny Gunter and I am the owner/managing member of Gunter Land Services, LLC. We provide project management services for the energy sector. Most of the work we do is in the oil/gas industry but we are currently working on a wind farm prospect in the Texas panhandle and are working on drumming up some money for that. You can see more about us at our website at gunterlandservices.com

Hey Kenny, glad you found Young Entrepreneur and decided to join! Very interesting area of work. How profitable is that for you and what do you do exactly? Do you mainly do startups or do you run existing projects?

Oil and gas companies bring companies like mine in to handle stuff on their existing projects. Right now its a one man show but I am actively marketing several E&P companies trying to get on their vendors list. The business model for a brokerage is fairly similar to that of a temp agency.

The E&P company will say they need so many people on the XYZ Project. You pay the contractors $XX and you charge the client so much over what you pay the contractor. We do things like lease acquisition, title research, determine mineral interest ownership, title curative etc.

The wind side of our business is slightly different. We are working on early stage wind farm development We will go in and get the land under control with the property owners, handle all testing and interconnection agreements into the transmission grid and then sell the project off to a developer to actually build the turbines. This has a very good profit margin but I am having trouble finding interested investors on this side of it.

Welcome to your site. You're business model is similiar to a startup I'm doing with partners. We cater to small insurance companies that don't have a claim presence. We're contracted out by those companies to provide auto damage and homeowner damage estimates. The key is we utilize 1099 subcontractors and charge the insurance company a fee and pay the subcontractor a portion of that fee.

Let me know how it goes or if you have any questions.
