need help with an FBLA Talent show
I'm on my FBLA Talent show staff committee, my objective is to find unique prizes and misc. things like that, I have already gotten a quote on silicone wristbands (the livestrong bracelets) that say 2007 FBLA Talent show on them. That the staff and most likely the participants will have, But I need something more, any suggestions? Please keep in mind that this is for a public school FBLA event so the prices need to be as cheap as possible.
Thanks for your help.

Congrats on FBLA. I was a member of FBLA in high school. Its a great club and I would recommend everyone to join it. Like LightHouse said, prize for winners or freebies? I remember at our events, we always had cupcakes. You can write FBLA on it.

Either, right now we currently have nothing, the wristbands are the only thing I have found and will be discussing this with my FBLA adviser tomorrow.. I want to an idea of how much it all will cost so I can bring it to her and say if we get this and this its going to cost 'x' amount of dollars, and if 'x' amount of people buy a ticket we will have 'x' amount of profit... If you even have any short term fund raising programs that we could use for a month, that would even be great.

I remember in one of our events, we had a raffle contest. We went to various businesses around the neighborhood and asked them if they could donate a prize. We told them we would mention their business and possibly a banner in the event. Then we raffled off the prizes. Most of the people came for the prizes because the largest prize was a TV.

bestmiler has the right idea. and honestly its easy, you walk into local shops and ask owners for what you need. express its for school and if you are talking to the owners let them know its for FBLA and they may even appreciate it more.

But, I wouldn't think businesses like Best Buy, Office Depot, Target would donate items to high school kids even if you say your in FBLA using it for a fundraiser, they might think its just a couple kids trying to get free stuff, wouldn't they?

think smaller, you wouldnt find the owners of best buy in your best buy. you need to find small local business owners. pet shops, toy stores, record shops etc etc. not to hard to find them. you could even look in your local clearical info system and find where local business are registered too. that will tell you if they are local or not most likly. there are tons of options
