I'm interested in getting a group of Chicago YE together. I've been looking, but I can't find a group similar to what I'm trying to find so I figured that I'd create one. I figure if it would help me and my business there has got to be others out there in the same boat.

I'm thinking under 35 and wanting to network with a group of other young people going through similar issues and professional life events. The meeting would be an hour and a half once a month and would have a keynote speech from one of the members (you don't have to give a speech, it's totally voluntary). These speeches would cover topics such as:

• Being A Boss
• Marketing
• Public Relations
• Business Writing
• Finding An Accountant
• Having a Life

...and other topics. If there is anyone in the Chicago area who would either be interested in coming or interested in helping me get this off the ground, please post or PM me. Also, if there is anyone who is currently involved in a group like this who has ideas about what we could do or how to get members, please let me know. I just really want a way to network face to face with fellow small business owners!

I am from Fort Wayne, IN and would be glad to drive up to Chicago if this thing got rolling. I currently belong to YLNI.org and we could probably get a group of us together to go up there. PM me when you get some more concrete things in line.

I just found this site, and am looking for a discussion group just as you described. I'm still hunting to see if there is already something ongoing, and recall having a mailer sent to me a few years ago about a young business owners convention or association or something, but don't remember exactly what it was called, and no longer have the mailer...

Anyway, if you are still planning on doing something in this direction, I would be interested-
