    Most Ridiculous Things of Business

Here is a topic that is sure to get some laugh's and some anger off people's chest (probably the easiest anyone can answer.)

List your most embarassing (but yet should be the easiest) things about your business life that you were angered by because it was frustrating. I got one right now, this damn necktie... for God's sake I couldn't tie this thing if I had to... I see the Windsor Knot, the Four-Hand knot (I believe its called) and I cannot get this friggin' thing to fit right or get it tied.

Anybody wanna comment on this atleast until I learn it and if you want to share your embarassing moment, go ahead!

room full of people: vcs, angels, entrepreneurs and journalists

me, 10 powerpoint slides and a presentation podium

got up, did my spiel in 20 mins only to realise my fly was undone the whole time

that was my 2005 on-the-spot pitching comp

also...I had a guy with me who couldn't answer "what do you do" kind of questions...don't take people to events unless they are prepared. even if they're "only the tech guys", they won't be able to pitch like you do, and it's gonna embarass the hell out of you

....the worst, though, is when you're selling a web service and your servers blow out..or you get hacked

    THAT is embarassing

my god, I never want to remember how bad it is to have to deal with bugs and field tech support

sometimes, the guys who coded the damn thing just stare blankly and say they've got no clue what the prob is

Ha ha... sorry about that Akula... and I thought I had it bad

Although I did accomplish the art of four-hand tying, now I want to learn the Windsor Knot which is supposedly better, IDK how cause to me it seems the same as four-hand, only that the knot is a bit larger. Oh well, I'll stick with my four-hand right now

(BTW... edit first post, changed "Windows Knot" to "Windsor Knot.") Oh what an embarassement

for me, personally, the most embarassing moments have been telling the family about a really exciting venture, only to close the damn thing down 6 months later

in a very general sense, I just don't want to talk to friends or family about business, it's embarassing

^^ Wise words Nigami, definitely useful.

And Akula, I agree, its fun though for me to tell my fiance as she always supports me no matter what so I tell her about some of my future plans and everything and get her opinion on them as well as whether she thinks (in a customer's perspective) if it'll be a successful investment to invest my money into (as in further development of my cash flow business) --- NOT in investing in other businesses, I make that alone on my own and with my financial advisor and an accountant (who is a close friend.)

But yeah... I've been luring my friends and family about the cash flow consulting I am going to do and they keep asking me "when when?" I keep replying "when I feel like I have enough knowledge to supplement it." Of course, I do have the knowledge and skills right now, but my budget is tight. I am looking for freelance work cause all I need is $200 ... $150 to setup my phone lines, the rest to purchase mortgage lead's to send out letter's to. After I handle the first 2 deals and get paid my commission's... it'll be a breeze from there to invest and grow my business (as well as have enough money to invest in other businesse's for shares/ownership percentage of the company or a good ROI loan payback.)

Anyway, anybody else have any embarassing time's...
