Microsoft

So what do all of you think will happen to Microsoft? Microsoft has the most money out of all US companies topping 35 billion dollars. Bill Gates is no longer the CEO, but is Chairman and Chief Software Architet. What markets do you think Microsoft Corporaton will reach out into next?

Post your thoughts, comments, suggestions, questions, etc. here.

We'll be seeing more of .net, and I'm not sure how x-box is doing. The new windows os sounds terrible, and linux keeps getting better.

I'm not a mac guy but I wouldn't blame home users for wanting to get a mac with klez, msblaster, sobig, ect. being spread like wildfire. It'll only get a lot worse when everyone has a pc or two, they depend on it more for work, and more people are connected to the internet.

Sorry kind of OT. =(

Any OS which becomes as popular and widely used as Windows would be plagued by viruses just the same. Mac visures exist, you just don't hear about them on the news because it's not a compelling news story that the world's 10 remaining Mac users had to reboot their computers.

Microsoft is here to stay. I'm happy about it. Linux isn't bad, but give me XP over OS X any day... Mac... blech.

My guess is Microsft will branch further into TV (they've already started). The convergence of various electronic media (TV, film, Internet) is the next "big thing."

Microsoft is a great company - they have great products. They aren't the most popular software provider because people are ignorant, they're popular because people recognize functionality and stability - both of which Microsoft has in their software and in their company structure.

They are too big, too powerful, and too experienced to ever fall off. It would take a catastrophic event for Microsoft to shrink in size and give up it's market share...

Microsoft is a great company if they were not, they would be not be as big as they are. If any of you are near Seatlle you will notice their office is as big as a college campus. Also my opioion on Windows is, "If you complain about it, don't use it". All these people complain about Windows, but they use it. Odd isn't it?
