I know that 97% of people who try to find financial freedom through a home-based business fail.

well think about it, you see all these commercials on tv and internet and they make you buy a book or a dvd with the "secrets" for like $20 and you make millions... I mean come on.. that has to be a scam or something down the line.. You cannot just sit on your butt all day long and expect to make a great living out of it like they advertise

It works just like off line businesses, I think if you tend to do what everyone else is doing - blog, affiliate, advertising etc.. there is only so much of the pie to go around. same as bricks and mortar businesses

Again, to succeed you need to try and find that niche, or thing everyone wants, or something that provides a service, people want things for free online.. so anything free for a user is always good..

The sites that have made decent cash online usually start as start-ups - lastminute.com, facebook, myspace, moneysupermarket.com, they are all free to use, and are turning over 7 figure numbers all the time.

Im not discounting that you cant supplement your daily income via ads, affiliates, blogs etc.. but It would take a lot of work to be able to make a good living from it as a sole form of income.

All these big bloggers have their hands in many other pies, rarely make money just from writing a little blog.

i have tried about 8 different of these "programs" and they have been a waste of money for me. I do work from home now but its my own business and i do pretty well. I do not suggest getting into any of these online schemes unless you are wiling to lie cheat and steal.

As previous posters have stated, historically only about 3% succeed. The guys at the top keep all the money and the guys at the bottom are left in the dust.

But there is obviously the opportunity to make money, otherwise why would those top 3% go to all the trouble of promoting their various online businesses?

The problem is that the other 97% don’t have the knowledge, experience and most importantly startup $$$$ to succeed at first, so they get frustrated and fail.

There is currently a growing trend where some of those guys at the top are sharing their wealth and putting actual dollars into helping their new guys succeed. They are within companies that have compensation plans that actually make this strategy economically beneficial to those wealthy few.

Yet this trend is in its infancy, and it’s not easy for some of the established internet marketers to see its benefit and adopt it. And there are also questions as to its long term effectiveness. Obviously there comes a point where those guys at the top won’t be able to fund every new member’s advertising, so the torch must be passed and those that start making good $$$ below the guys at the top must duplicate this strategy for it to succeed long term. Also, the product itself must be within a large enough market for long term viability.

I found such an opportunity and so far its working wonders. And I completely believe into the theory, so in the very near future when I’m able to start personally funding those below me I have every intention to do so. It makes the most sense to me economically in the long term. And others that are on the same level as I plan to do the same. I truly hope this trend of helping others catches on. It would allow so many people to earn serious startup capital and start businesses of their own doing something they're passionate about.

If you are looking into network marketing make sure you first analyze the actual product. Once you’ve found a great product I’d recommend finding a team that will put actual dollars into helping you succeed.

Yes most home business programs are a scam. I have tried tons of them as well. I will say, I do own a successful home business and have for over 9 years; But its in sales. I dont trust anyone that claims you can make a certain amount of money in any given time length.
