You know, I really don't care for him, but he is still our President, and still deserves our respect.

Yeah he really deserves a lot of respect for killing hundreds of your country's troops for no reason at all.

Colin, being a future soldier and having my cousin (a marine) die in Iraq in 2002. I really dont appreciate that statement.
I realize that some of the parts of the war are very clouded for some people and all you see is deaths on the news. There is more to the war than bush. We are there to help a country that is in turmoil, and that is what we are going to do. The troops that went over and died did not die for no reason at all, they died so that others can live the life that you do. So that Iraq can be a free country.
Imagine this: every day you wake up and hear gunshots, and you know that you could be dead before sunset. You live in fear. Every step you take you are aware that you may step on a land mine and blow yourself up. All of the males in your family, including yourself, must carry a weapon to protect from robbers.
Now let me ask you...Do you want to live like that? The answer for anyone is no.
Yes, some will say that we need our troops back home defending our country. What do we need to defend against?
A nuke? The navy has constant patrol through the atlantic and pacific oceans guarding against nuclear threats.
Mexicans? (Not trying to be offensive) We have the national guard on the border.
It doesn't matter your view, or my view, on this subject. But the fact is WE ARE AT WAR. That is a hard statement for many people to fully grasp, but please support the soldiers, marines, sailors, and airmen that are currently deployed. And support the president, he goes through a lot more stress than you can imagine.

Yes, he is our President. Deserves our respect? No, sorry. He's got to earn it. He's not a dictator, he's a president. Saying that, the citizen's respect is earned. Not dictated... He’s Commander of Chief over the Army, NOT Commander in Chief over the citizens.
