    Mac or PC?

Ok, so my wife and I are doing really well in this new marketing business that we absolutely love. Anyway, my wife has a Mac, we love it, I love it. I want to get set up with the whole shebang, especially with these new Macs out, they are pretty sweet.

Well, tell us what you think? Should we stick with a PC and keep using my wifes Mac for personal things, or should we go with the Mac and get hooked up with the top of the line stuff?

I just want to know other peoples experience with the Mac concerning internet marketing.

PC by far. Vista is stable/secure and imo its a better os. You also dont pay for the name of Mac, so much cheaper.

Infact, in a recent hackers convention they hacked into mac easier than into a windows Vista based pc.. go figure.

With a unix based operating system it makes mac vs. pc security a non-issue, macs used to be much safer because they were uninteresting and generally designed for business applications. Now that they are trying to expand their target audience you're going to lose some of that safety.

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with Macs and if you are using the computer for business you would think that you wouldn't be opening anything untrustworthy. Also, the operating systems and hardware are very stable. In a sense your mac could outlast your business.

On the other hand, a PC built for business applications can be obtained cheaply, the sacrifice here is obviously the quality of your hardware and the instability of the operating system. For a normal user though this is rarely an issue.

My opinion: Use what fits into your budget.

Vista is a P.O.S. unstable, constantly crashing, slow operating system. I think Macs are a better computer, however, for the price difference I keep getting PCs.

I voted PC because I think it has a lot more uses than a Mac. Most programs that you'll need are compatible with PC's only.

This coming from a mac user yeah?

Everyone I know using vista, would be 30+ people havent had any issues with it. So keep dreaming it up.

Alot of people just love to hate vista without actually using it.

VISTA! Its more secure / stable then mac. Keep in mind that 90%+ of the world runs on PC's, so if you do get a MAC be prepared that not everything will be computable with it.

paypal stated if apple doesn't fix major security holes found in the safari browser then it wont work with their website

To clarify the "mac vs pc" on a security level, 90% of viruses are written to generate revenue, so common sense hackers/crackers never wasted their time writing code when 90% of their target market runs a PC. Makes sense? Cause it does. I have had Vista since the initial release, but now that service pack 1 is out it runs flawlessly!

Vista is still getting a bad rap from release BUT and this is coming from a Mac Consultant, when there's blood on the street buy property.

I personally use PCs exclusively because they're affordable and everything is compatible with Windows. EVERYTHING.

Re-read my post I own PCs. I own a less than 6 month old Gateway PC quad core/4 Gigs Rams/a terrabyte HD...Crashes constantly. Horrible OS.

I also own a Vaio laptop dual core 2 2.26mhz I think, 4 Gigs Ram, Vista conflicts everyday.

I'll leave out the details of my other 2 PCs with vista, but I will say that I installed XP on all the office computers so I wouldnt have to deal with vista.

Also, just as you know people that havent had vista issues, I dont know anyone that hasnt. Every Mac user I know uses the computer as intended without all the errors.

I have Vista and it serves me well. I never heard all of the controversial news about it.
