Question LOoking forward to Sports mktg career

hi fellow entrereneurs,
truely great to hear the determination of this gen of entrepreneurs. I hope to start my own entrepreial venture in the field of sports mktg. & managemnet in India. I have just dreams and targets to follow, no formal education & exp. i that regard. I am currently in a sports goods manufacturing co. as a marketing exec. I am a University grad in COmmerce (BCOM) & 23 yrs old.
If you have some idea regarding the sports mktg. industry plz help. Actually now i am in a dilemma about whether to invest couple of yrs. studying the mktg, advtg & sports business industry formally(in Canada - HUMBER COLLEGE TORONTO - how is it.! & later MBA in US like Warsaw sports center) or start straight away. THe former option is expensive and i am not sure about the scenario in the US for Jobs in this industry for experience.
I am proud to own certain very NOVEL ideas that even some veterans have appreciated . Also if you have any other resource to help in this regard plz do.
LOOking forward to your guidance and suggestions

It depends

Whether or not to pursue formal education depends on you. There are definately some jobs where not having an education will limit you. You said your interested in pursuing sports marketing. If you're going to practise that in the US or Canada i'd strongly suggest you do go to school. Sports are taken very seriously in the US and there's definately a business to sports marketing that you probably wouldn't have picked up while dealing with the manufacturing of sport goods, it's totally different. Now if you're staying in India thats another story. You may not need a formal education, maybe you could start your own agency right away. I know a couple of people who go to humber (not for sports marketing though). Its a decent school but i don't know if they have a reputation in the sports marketing industry. Goodluck with your decision......
