I think it's important to have a balance of both, but if I HAD to choose one quality over the other I'd definitely choose imagination hands down. You can have all the knowledge in the world and not know what to do with it because you can't come up with a creative, innovative idea. From my experience with imaginative people, things tend to just fall into place as they think outside the box to such a great extent.

I don't know that I'll take the bait on this one. It's awfully tempting but I don;t know that I like the way the question is phrased... I like it because it makes me think but feel like I am railroaded with the answer choices. Being a guy with a philosophy background actually makes it tough to answer in a "post". I feel like I'd need to write a paper to answer it. Can you tell I am going on and on... Well that is me resisting the temptation to take on the topic ------ ahhhhhhhhhhhhh. I am going to leave with that.

Imagination is more than better than a knowledge because once you imagine any thing in your mind then you can be able to take knowledge about that particular thing that you have conceived in your mind-set and imagination is the root cause and the mother of knowledge.

BOTH! If you have them both, you are an unstopable train! if you lack either, you will need someone else who can add the missing element!

To choose one, I'll pick imagination. Consider those wonders of the world like Banaue Rice Terraces in the Philippines. Ancient people are out of school people and don't have knowledge about engineering, but because of their imagination and creativity, they made those mountains to become one of the best wonderful place in the world.

Through imagination, you can make something unique.

I'm going with knowledge. With knowledge you know what to do and are simply missing the idea. You can always copy somebodies idea with your knowledge and make it more successful. If you don't know what to do and you have an idea you have to spend time learning, and that can take forever.

I'd take great SEO knowledge over a good website idea any day.

Imagination. The way I see it, knowledge is something that can be gained easily through reading books, and talking to people. There are more books written for a variety of topics to give you knowledge in that area as opposed to how to be more imaginative.

Neither means much without the ability to execute a plan born of your imagination and/or knowledge, or, to find someone else that can. Creativity is everywhere and a commodity. The ability to execute is rare and valuable.

I dont necessarily think that is true. The point of imagination is that it is completely untethered by reality. If you are dealing with something that has no grounds in reality then knowledge becomes useless. All the knowledge in the world can not help you learn to have an imagination. I have had many daydreams about things that i have absolutely no knowledge about. But that doesnt stop me from having the dreams nonetheless

    I agree with you here.
I's also found some great quotes online after looking into this question.
    • “A man's errors are his portals of discovery.”
    • “Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious...”
    • “Nothing that is worth knowing can be taught.”
    • “I love talking about nothing. It is the only thing I know anything about.”
    • “Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do.”
    • “Information is not knowledge.”
    • “Knowledge is of no value unless you put it into practice.”
    • “Thinking is more interesting than knowing, but less interesting than looking”

The definitions are a bit off 'cause knowledge is usually defined as either explicit or tacit but overall a good point.
