It's Repetition, Stupid!
Repetition is defined as "reiteration, or repeating the same word, or the same sense in different words, for the purpose of making a deeper impression on the audience."
That's what your advertising must do. It must reiterate your marketing message over and over again to influence your target audience. Unfortunately, many advertisers give up on their marketing message much too soon, because it doesn't pay immediate dividends. This is a mistake.
Some experts claim your advertisement must be seen a minimum of seven times, before it starts to sink in. I wholeheartedly agree with that assessment. Your advertisement is competing for viewing time with thousands of other advertisements. That means your target audience is likely distracted by other ads - by other choices, and may not respond to your ad the first time around.
That's why you must give your ad a chance to work, and not abandon it because it didn't immediately convert as well as you had hoped or expected. That's why you must remain patient. You must be diligent.
So hang in there. Keep running that ad. Because when it comes to advertising...it's repetition, stupid!
