    Is this realistic?

I am in need of making some income, and urgently to say the least.

I am trying to pick up some writing gigs, but it's very dry and cumbersome... so I am turning to adsense for some relief. I hear too many debates on the pros/cons... but this is not that kind of discussion.

I am starting a blog that promotes my email/social network customer service business. This raises my main question... IS THIS A REALISTIC BUSINESS/ MONEY MAKER?

I feel it is, but need to see if the public would actually be interested/need these services.

Even more, I can look to adsense for slight profit. I have made some money from it, but less than ten dollars so far. I manage ten blogs, and the content is a bit lacking right now, but what I need is exposure. SO, this is the true question: How do I get exposed?

many thanks to all for the answers... and sorry if I rambled :P

It sounds like a good idea. Have you actually produced it yet?

You would probably be better off in affiliate marketing, either by trying to figure out some decent PPC arbitrage (really hard to get nowadays, but oh so sweet if you can) or some decent CPA deals that will have a high conversion rate on your site.
It will certainly pay better in the long run.

For instance, you may want to run ads for software that you would recommend. Whilst you won't get paid for every person that clicks the ad, you'd get a pay out for every person that buys.
So instead of $0.05-$0.09 every 3 visitors, you'd be getting $2.00-$5.00 every 50 by PPA or $20.00-$30.00 every 200 by PPS.

i.e. We sell a competitor to MS Office, called Office One, via Office Download Center - ONE Special Edition - It pays out $20.00 per sale. The incentive for businesses to get it? It's a hell of a lot cheaper than MS Office, it's fully compatible, and it has a few more features in built.
It actually does quite well with businesses that are looking to get away from being reliant on MS.

Thanks for the advice... I have thought about affiliate marketing, but I would rather focus on the business aspect. I have talked to several people and businesses... all have found interest. However, the beauty of this business is that there are numerous outlets that focus on one aspect: customer relations.

Anyways, thanks again. Appreciate your thoughts.

With affiliate marketing you can potentially make a good commission per sale. You can still focus on the ''business'' by honing your sales/marketing skills, both online and offline. At least this way you can gear your blog posts to moving whatever product/service you are an affiliate for and also attack classified ads, forums, and social networks. Cheers!

I have suggested this numerous times: get the book called "Entrepreneur America" by Rob Ryan and use it's methods to test your businesses and business ideas. It is also sold as "Smart Ups" - I suggest getting a hard copy edition.

I have used it as and aid and workbook for years now...
    All the best...

Pay for premium ads on sites relating to yours. Post on other blogs and be sure to include a link to your site. Google "how to produce traffic to a blog" or something and see what comes up. It's mostly trial and error to see what works for your site. If there was one specific way, don't you think everyone would be doing it? Good luck.
