    is COLLEGE really necessary?.

It's my sophmore year in college and I've come to a conclusion that college is not needed to generate a sucesfull future income. I`m having a blast in college with the social experience and the friends i've made but the late nights studying and stressful final weeks are not enjoyed much. Since late 2005, i've been stayin up late and do a lot of research and learn as much as i can in real estate, MLM, money-investing, and other opportunties of making money because i know there has to be other ways of making an income.

a whole bunch of people i know that are in their 30's and they own so much properties and are driving BMWs . I envy them, they never went to college and some never finsh highschool, some of them can't even speak english!... i mean what the heck!

then comes my sister, she graduated from University of Washington- got her BS degreeand shes still attending school because she cant find a good job in her field. She's currently studying for different major. She's nearly 25 and still in school.. thats nearly half of her life right there went into schooling.

You know how your parents keep telling you to stay in school? I like school, i like the social experience but nothing more. I got into arguements with my mom a lot of the time about the unimportance of school. Just to make her happy, i`m still attending school.. I`m doing quite decent but i know it's not going to lead me any where in the future.

Ever since late 2005, i was involed with many money-making opportunities; from pay to surf to filling out surveys.. that didnt' go to well despise the fact that i did get a few bucks from it. After days and weeks of self-learning, I've decided to start an online business with the money given for school- financial aid money..... i did not tell anybody about it, even my family.
its been nearly only 3 months and i'm quite happy with the results, really happy. Since i started, ive made a total of 48 sales at $500 a sale believe it or not.
There are 14 people who are on my team right now. I do not know them personally, we only communicate over the net. Many people who don't personally know me thinks i`m lying untill they see my bank statements in person.

I`m thinking of getting a new car tongue.gif

I finally came out a few weeks ago and told my family what i was doing. They of course didn't believe me not till they saw my statements. The looks on their faces were just priceless. sigh.. i`m going to start paying rent from now on. I'm taking the whole family to florida for 2 week vacation the end of the quarter. I bought the tickets and the whole package smile.gif i never felt more like a man.

And of course i`m still attending college. again, i`m doing quite decent. I`m only doing this partime. When I get back, i'll turn it on full blast.

i know this will not be a long term sucess, but there's always some kind of opportunities out there that you can invest your money into. (Foreign money exchange is a good opportunity- its been around since internet existed) You just have to really reasearch for the right opportunity or you'll get burn.

if you take the same amount of time you spend in college and spend it on money-making- you'll get a lot more in return financial wise.

How about you change your site so people dont have to spend hours reading what it is about? Cut to the chase - give us the elevator summary. I got bored reading when I saw this B.S:
Ultimately the straight As students will end up working under the Bs students and the Bs students will be hired by the Cs students.
So what do you do....in a nutshell?

i agree with f360...its bad enough there are hundreds of these programs on the web but then you cant even tell us what you do on your site. not to say it is, but that makes it look shady.

No couldnt disagree more with that post :? The straight A students will have a successful life whether they start their own company or get snatched up by a company... the straight A students put more effort into their work and life in general whereas the students who get Cs reflects they didnt study and are generally lazy.. thats why there is such a thing as the grading system

I suggest reading Millionaire Next Door, gives you perspective on affluence and the people who are really rich.

I am one of the perhaps few people who believe college is necessary. I think college provides excellent opportunities for students who take advantage of it. I agree that studying for exams is boring... sometimes mundane. But some of the knowledge you get can be applied to things your interested in.

I think the most important thing about college is to make sure you do internships and such to gain real world professional experience. The goal is to graduate and get hired, or graduate and attend a good masters program.

It's simple: The straight-A students are dedicated. Some B and C and D students are dedicated, too, they just don't do well in their school's environment. But to say that all A students will consistently rank under lower-grade students is preposterous. No, going to school will not help you become a better entrepreneur - but it will give you knowledge on a focused subject, which you can use in your entrepreneurial endeavors.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that's the way it is. I am a straight-A student, am getting inducted to the honor society in a couple of weeks, and I am halfway through college now (at only 18).

What a load of BS! Getting Cs does NOT mean you are lazy.

Let me guess, you are a straight A student that is quite succesful? So all your life you have belived that only straight A students work hard, and all C students are lazy.

I find this post repugnant and slightly naive.

I agree with youngmoney...Millionaire Next Door is a great read and you would probably be surprised by a lot of it.

I also agree that college is necessary. not to be an entrepreneur, but since there is risk involved in being in business for yourself you want to have at least a degree to fall back on to get a decent job if you need to.

also, you meet so many people in college who have great ideas...use it as a place to build a team of masterminds...whether you start something in college or not, you will have those people to build business' with for the rest of your life because of the connections you made while in college...the social aspect of it, although not necessary, is recommended as well.

If you can do it right, you can make more money not going to college. Of course, you have to have a GREAT idea to do and market it well. I am thinking of college as a back up option. So incase the deals that I have go bad, then I can always get a job that pays decent and not at Mc D's

    college

Experience counts and so does a college degree. I believe if you only have one or the other you run the risk of losing out on opportunities to your peers that have both. On top of that, spending a few late nights studying and still having a social life carries zero weight with most people that are out there earning a living and probably busting their asses 60+ hours a week to make the money to buy the nice homes, cars, properties, whatever. My advice, stay in school and try to find a job in whatever you may be interested in even if it's part time during the summer or weekends and at the bottom of the ladder. You'll get your shot and then grab it and pour your heart into it.

It all comes down to your goals.

If you really want to start a business and work hard to make it successful, you will start a business and make it successful.

If you really want to be a ballerina dancer and work hard at being the best, you will become a ballerina dancer and be the best.

    Easy.

You can't be everything, nor can you do everything.

Some of the B or C students may have got those grades because they were more interested and too busy in building a business. While the A students were more interested in getting to the next step to achieve their goals.

btw, nice work to the original poster on generating some publicity for your site

    cheers

If you look at all the forbes lists many of those entrepeneurs dont have a college education or even a hisghschool education and if they do its from some city college. Teachers and professors are usually the ones who had the good grades and went to the best schools. Some people find school interesting and manageble and the students who dont do so well are thinking about how to make money. I personally do what i have to just to get through it because I know thats not what is going to make me successful.

Gillat, a correction is in order. Those folks have a partial college education, but dropped out to pursue their businesses. Bill Gates and Michael Dell come to mind here. Might I also remind you that Sergey Brin, Larry Page, and Larry Ellison all went to college and graduated with degrees. This pokes quite a few holes in your post above.

it's true not everybody can succeed, one of the main reason is they do not posess the "right information". I mean there are litterally free money out there, if you know where to look.

    i.e.

Did you know there are grants and goverment help for litterally everything?...from money to train to be a french chef to money to fix the roof of your house, but the thing is, nobody knows about them. They are like scholarships, you apply for them if your qualified you'll get them..your chances of getting these grants are so great because nobody ever apply- no1 knos about it!.. you can get all this information if you know where to look... I personally applied for one of these grants recently during the wintertime. It's for free electricity and gas. Guess what? they sent me money for Gas and electrity.! I ran into some crazy grants such as; fix your plumming, money to buy equipments for your company, renew your house. landscaping...etc..etc..
I can probaly go on and on about grants.. but you' get my point.
did you know all those information you can find at a local library?? or there services out there that can do the findings for you, you just gota pay the fee.

once you have a business going-with the power of the internet and marketing today, everybody has a equal chance in the playing field.
