Is a small hit rate at first normal

i just started my site and have been marketing my self with every outlet available ,twitter, facebook, flyers, and stickers. amongst some search engines and Google. i have a steady 20 to 30 a day but that's no money. Am i just being impatient or am i missing something.

Well, 20-30 visits a day isn't too bad for a site that is new. Another form of marketing you might want to try is marketing on forums. For example, add a link to your site, and even an image, in your signature like mine.

We dont have alot to go on really you only mention one part of the equation like 20-30 visitors aday,if you can provide further details like how old the site is,url and in what sector people may be able to guide you better.It does take time to get a decent amount of visitors if you want them very quick and have a budget to spend on adwords you can get visitors straight away but at a cost and i mean a cost or the other option is increase your SEO by adding your site to directories etc a good site i use to get extra exposure is Digg.com especially for a new site as you can be picked up by google in days.
I recently started about 4 months back a File Hosting site and after promoting it for free as i am a tight with my money it is getting 7.5k visitors a day and 1100 uniques and just gone sub 200k on Alexa and growing daily so it can be done its just a matter of time.Good luck with it

my site is a link site for my shirts and skate decks that i designed ... as well as an outlet for me and my friend to use on our blogs. Mainly a new place to find cool crap.

so then what I'm doing might be working ... today i woke up to 110 unique visitors ... and i have business cards and stickers on the way. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I want to make money from the ads on my site. i use adbrite and google. are there any other better ones or more lucrative ones. thanx

You could add a Amazon store to your site its free and it does have alot of products related to your site that could work well and another suggestion could well be promote clickbank products and that is free to join and the revenue from clickbank can be very very good.Dont have the link as i am off out but if you google both amazon and clickbank you will find the links.
