invented my own economics theory!
hi. this is kinda off topic i know...but i figure it has some relevance because we are all striving to make it in the game of capitalism. i apparently invented my own economics theory. it is really just a derivitave of some pre-existing concepts...but it takes an important step forward. i showed my teacher and he looked it over and he is going to present it to his colleagues and have it refined. and then who knows. might end up in textbooks. (which i have some misgivings about because not all of it is good). but yea. see what students can do when they put their mind to it.

its actually rather radical so i dont really want to go into detail with it. it has to do with economic equality and its consequences. as my teacher said "don't let any right-wingers get ahold of this or they will latch onto it and use it as a mantra." but if my teacher and his colleagues can refine it and present it in the right light i will def share it, i just dont want to influence the way people think. one thing that you could probably derive from it though..be an entrepreneur. lol.

Fair enough, but once it is refined you must share!
It all sounds very interesting

i will def share it provided it can be placed in the proper light. im sure im nowhere near as smart as einstein was but i can imagine that this is how he felt too....i hate when things arent either all good or all bad. lol. rotten complicated life.

I'm studying microeconomics atm... all the theories thus far are dead simple and general knowledge imo.
Anything radical I'm all for!

yea thats the beauty of it...i consider my theory to be dead simple and common sense too. that was one thing that really amazed me when i began studying econ. it just seems that noone has thought to look at it from this particular angle yet. i remember my teacher telling me about some guy's great insight. which was basically the fact that inflation has to take into account the rise in prices. ...well umm...yea. and it took them a long time to realize that. but yea its common sense to me...which is a big part of the reason why i feel more lucky than smart. im thinkin of zuckerburg right now. facebook. facebook wasnt anything amazing. he took a pre-existing object and put it online. i guess he was smart in a certain regard. but it was also a huge element of luck that noone had thought of it before. this whole intelligence/luck dichotomy really interests me. i had a post a while back about whether the guy who invented the hula hoop could be called a genius. is it something inherent about people who think of these things? some kind of advanced ability to draw associations? or is it just sheer dumb luck?
