Introvert
Hello everyone, I thought this would be a good place to post this topic, if not, administrator, please move it accordingly. I myself consider myself to somewhat an introvert, I do ok in family gatherings, couple of really close friends, but when I get invited to a place where i don't know anyone or even if a buddy and I are at a restaurant I get this discomfort , not shyness , get a lil nervous around people I don't know , I have a bad habit of always judging people before i get to know them, I know part of being a good entrepreneur is being social, and its something that i am working on, I know there are plenty of successfull entrepreneurs that are introverts, are there any introverts on this board, any tips, suggestions, comments would be appreciated. Thanx

Hugo, I find myself to be the same way in certain situations. Almost to where I think I am, excuse the language, dick.
I don't always enjoy meeting new people that I don't see the benefit of knowing or if I think I won't have anything in common with. Although, after getting into business and having to give face time to customers, other companies that I want to build relationships with, etc. I have grown out of that. Take for example this recent situation involving guys here on YE:
I wanted to get a group together of guys on YE from Boston, to meet and share ideas, give each other advice and help in each others ventures. Now, as I was en route to the place I set the meeting for, I was thinking "Oh man, what am I going to say, what do you think they will be like, am I going to have to be the motivator to start convos, is it going to start off bad and I just want to get out of there, etc.". Well, I bypassed those feelings and I am glad I did. There was 6 of us that showed up, 4 from YE, and now we will be meeting regularly 1 or 2 times a month. We all talked on and on sharing ideas, talking about YE, our own businesses and goals, etc. It was truly a beneficial situation and now I am even meeting one for a cigar Sunday just to shoot the breeze.
I guess I learned that naturally I will always have that initial apprehension in regarding a new situation, but if you just be yourself and open up a bit is can and will always open new doors for you.
