Internet Business - Hype or Reality?

I have been observing that lately there have been a huge number of people interested in and plan to earn through Internet. Everyday I see people in the introduction section introducing themselves and their wish to earn through internet.

Have we really ran out of real business ideas? I mean I know internet affiliate marketing stuff is quite good at times but seems like it is the only idea that people are interested in these days. I have been offered to do some affiliate marketing on commission basis but I don't think that this is a way to be an Entrepreneur. Internet business sounds like a misnomer to me. It is rather like a monthly salary than a business. You cannot be a millionaire through the internet "business"....or can you?

Whatever said and done but still looks like there is a scarcity of budding entrepreneurs who want to do something else than the internet business. Seems like the Internet business has been over hyped. Or maybe I am wrong. Am I missing something here ? Probably misunderstanding the whole concept of Internet Business?

Yip, I think you may be missing something.
Many businesses use the internet extensively without being "internet businesses".
It is a highly efficient and cost effective way to market your products... As far as affiliate marketing goes... I have about 70 affiliates marketing my products, all with an affiliate site. This is a great success!

Yeah thats right that internet is a great medium today..right away from marketing your company to sell out your products. But this is not internet business. This is a business for which you are using internet as a means to meet your ends.

But, I am not overlooking your statement about affiliate marketing. I have been searching but somehow I am not so convinced about Affiliate marketing. I have made couple of sites for a client. He just wanted websites to show google and amazon ads and earn from them. Obviously both of them are high content based websites.

If you don't mind can I pm you to know more about how you are affiliate marketing? I have been searching but I haven't been able to really understand how it works. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sure...

Basically, I have about 70 affiliates that each have their own affiliate page on my site. I give them a very generous commission and they are free to market the products in whatever way they want....
