The illuminati conspiracy is for those that simply can't believe that there really isn't anyone in control of things these days.
Things happen that organised by powerful people, but to believe any one group controls the world is sheer fantasy... You may as well believe that jews, free masons or aliens are running the show.

I do know that the world's most powerful people meet every year and attendees aren't allowed to discuss what happend in the meeting. Big media figures attend but aren't allowed to report anything about it. Bilderberg. There is an agenda for this group, but nobody is really sure exactly what that agenda is.
These are basically people that control the world. World bankers, presidents and prime ministers, etc...
