I am new at this and was looking to find some solid advise. I am a manager of a huge corporation fortune 500 so managing people for 15 years has given me experience in many different avenues.

Now with that our of the way my situation is that a close friend of mine approached me about a product that is company and another developed and without giving away what the product is. I will say it is in the Auto industry combined with fuel. He said he needed a person to get the product onto shelves in the Florida area. My question is how do I sell a new product to stores? Do I just walk in and hand them the product and ask them to use it and get feedback and call when your ready to make a purchase? This product will be used mostly by anything that uses gas but I was told to concentrate at the marinas first.

If anyone has any good advise about how to sell a product to a local store would be welcomed. The stores I woudl be looking to sell at would be AutoZone, local Gas stations, Boat yards, ETC. Thanks in advanced
