the seminar that you pay for isn't all the great. Its pretty basic stuff, but its a great place to connect with like minded people.
I went to the rich dad seminar about real estate and was able to connect with some really interesting like minded people. For example, one the contacts i made was a private plane pilot who flys people on his plane that have a net worth of 50 million dollars.
Anyways he now quit his job because he was able to get some solid advice from these people and has since started his own biz, of which I know all about since I talk to him on a constant basis.
Also the seminars are good to get into the mind state of attaining wealth. Overall its a great experience if you make the best of it.
Dont feel shy to network a ton and make connections. cuz you never know
My problem with Donald Trump is that he was meant to be coming to Australia to talk, we bought tickets, it fell through and he still demanded the money he was going to be paid. The promoting company went down, and so did my $200, so I think he is a total loser now. I respected him before he turned into a sellout with extremely setup shows like The Apprentice and now I think he is nothing but a name, and everything around him is done by other people. I wouldnt ever buy another thing of his, he is just a media face.
That's a bummer Will..
I guess it depends on what you are trying to learn. I'm not real impressed with the whole seminar model anymore, except when for networking - especially when, for half the price or less I can get access to 1 on 1 expert training and mentors...

His books are pretty much a 'look at me, you should just think big and you'll get rich'. That is what I get from them anyway. I think your best bet is to buy the books from people who are not the big flamboyant media faces and the people who will actually tell you about the industry or the art of how they made their success.
Donalds books, to me, seem all to be just big noting him, and really not giving much insight as I do not think he is the brains of his organisation, his contacts are the smart ones, which were probably given to him by his father, an extremely successful developer before him.
His only good books are those with Robert Kiyosaki, because that guy is good quality, Donald just hitches a ride and puts his name on the book.
I agree great place to meet others in the biz. I would'nt put a lot of stock in Trump , what or why does he have to prove at this point?
I dont care for Donald Trump much. I do like Robert Kiyosaki of Rich Dad Poor Dad.
trump has sick penthouse
I find that Trump's books are all self-promotion. So is Kiyosaki's stuff by this point, RDPD is awesome and there's a couple other books that are ok but a lot of his stuff is just fear based "the world is coming to an end" type crap for boomers. Now he's into gold, he's turned into a gold bug survivalist like the rest of the doomers.
Not that I don't think that there will be a really bumpy ride ahead, but the whole buy guns and gold and stock up on unmilled wheat thing is just dumb. If you read blogs like Ferfal, a guy who lived through the real life SHTF event in Argentina, he thinks that a lot of American survivalists are just weird, immature, or both. Not that having some junk silver and 9ct gold pieces wouldn't come in handy, but the people who buy tons of gold are just asking to be robbed and killed.
Now Kiyosaki is one of them, a survivalist, albeit one in a limousine, thus making him a hypocrite like Al Gore who lives in a massive mansion while preaching conservation. I read in the WSJ how people were buying tons of guns as an investment because they thought that Obama would repeal gun ownership. He didn't. Americans have very little clue what it would take to really survive in a TEOTWAWKI situation. Most "survivalists" would simply be rounded up, or killed for their stuff, right away.
As for the book Why We Want You To Be Rich, which is what I think the OP means, it's ok, interesting look into the pasts of the authors, and good primer on why the US is screwed, but it's no blockbuster.
That sucks. The least he could do is give you your money back. $200 is no small sum, especially if you're a college student or working class. The Apprentice was a great idea at first, then Trump and/or his producers started picking winners beforehand like American Idol and those other "talent" shows (actually talentless shows). Trump is human too, although he wants us to think otherwise.
It is a very good book and i will advice that you get one for yourself
I've read the book as well and it definitely helped me freshen up a bit and focus more on the bigger picture and not the tiny problems that sometimes inhibit my success. I say buy it and study it. Very good book.
