How old is "young"?
A thought occurred to me as I was reading the responses to another thread I wrote. I'm turning 25 this year, and most people assume I'm in my early 30s from looking at me.
(I drink, smoke and do other activities that aren't good for my body on a too regular basis)
How old are we allowed to get before we're no longer considered "young" entrepreneurs?

I am sure this topic has been discussed a few times before. However, I do not think age is as important as having a strong drive, also, being somewhat new to the whole entrepreneur scene, although some are obviously more experienced

The way I look at it, the 'young' in Young Entrepreneur doesn't specifically mean age. This site is for those in the first or early stages of entrepreneurship. We are young entrepreneurs no matter what age.

I am 43. You say what am I doing here? You see, I have and always will have the fire of a guy 20 something looking to get that big hit in the entrepreneur world. Besides, I am just starting all over again. I was busy raising my daughter.
I am doing two things here. One...check my "fire in the belly" and make sure it still burns youthful and stong. Second, I may be able to help, inspire and give confidence to alot of the younger entrepreneurs here. Plus the younger people here are sharp and very educated teaching me alot! I'm not stupid...I'm taking advantage and learning!
We all can learn from each other. Last, hell, I'll never get old! I will always be wild young and daring!!!!

Socially, I think people see young as up to 30-35. If you are 30-35 and have made it to the point where for the rest of your working years you are independent, calling the shots, and doing what you love, then that is a great position to be in. After that age range, I think people (again socially here, not us on YE) are not as impressed or are sensitized to an "old guy" with knowledge and experience being "entitled" to start a business.
My point of view...any age is perfect. There are some people on here over 40, 50, 60 but they have to think and feel young to spark a new idea or break into markets that cater to the ideology and thought of "younger crowds". For example, if you are 60, and have an MBA, owned businesses throughout your life, you are not necessarily able to blast off the next Facebook-like business. You need to listen to the market you are trying to operate within. I believe Hugh on YE, he is over 60, but he is here because in addition to his knowledge and experience with entrepreneurship all his life, he wants to hear the new and young ideas, and learn from us along with teach us at the same time.
