i said 101k to 1M, im not quite sure what the question is asking, but I feel that within my bounds and at this point in my life, I have worked and invested my time and money to be able to reach this point. Everyone has the capability of becoming a millionaire just some are more hard working, intuitive and focused than others. For example, somebody working a minimum wage job may be working longer days than me. However, they are lazy because they have chosen not to investigate their other options. Its soo easy to come up with a way to make 7$ an hour. Anyways I have digressed, I look forward to your input as this is a subject I am adamant about.

Does anyone really "deserve" more than he or she is currently making? Is there something other than supply and demand to determine what one "deserves?"
To me, someone saying that he "deserves" more than he's currently making sounds like he thinks that the world owes him something. As a result, I think that one "deserves" what one currently earns.

apparently not everyone believes this unless we have some billionaires on the forum.

There's a big difference between $100k and $1m.
Personally, I feel I'm worth in the region of $75k to $150k to an employer, depending on what I'm employed for, as I am fairly certain that I could be making about $120k a year on my own from about $20k startup capital (seriously, niche market events, big money in it... used to help with some and it's not hard to organise one).

Do I think I've done the work to deserve $1.1B+ yet? No, but I'm trying. However, I think most of us here deserve it no less than any of the current billionaires of this age.

Why do you "deserve it" as much as someone who actually earned and realized their billions?

deserve: to be worthy of, qualified for, or have a claim to because of actions, qualities, or situation.
Many of us are making the right decisions, gaining the right qualities, placing ourselves in the right situations, working hard and getting the right knowledge. I am no less worthy or qualified for success than anyone else who is a billionaire-- and neither are you my friend.
Whether one actually becomes a billionaire, however, is up to him/her. We have to claim it, fight for it and do everything within our power to obtain it.
As for me, no one else in the world can make the claim that they deserve to be a billionaire any more or less than me. Including the ones that already are billionaires.

Then might we each "deserve" exactly what we currently earn, since how much one earns "is up to him/her," just requiring him/her "to claim it, fight for it and do everything...to obtain it?"
Thus, those earning $1 billion deserve that amount because they claimed it, fought for it, and did everything within their power to obtain it. And those earning one buck only deserve one buck, since that's all they were willing to claim and fight for to obtain.
Your statement actually seems this opposite argument, that we each only deserve what we currently make (be that $1 billion or one buck) because we each have the ability, but determine whether to actually make proper use of the ability.
In looking at the poll results, what I find interesting, though not surprising in our society today, is that everyone thinks that they deserve MORE. The world always owes them something. This seems like a lack of self-responsibility to me.

Hey Hooman, have you noticed yet how much people are stumbling over the word 'DESERVE...'?
That's a loaded question you've asked there, because that word 'deserve' is linked to all sorts of challenging experiences that many, many people have struggled with throughout their childhoods and into their adult working lives. 'Am I really deserving of this relationship/job/my parents time and effort/this money?'
I know what I'm talking about here - I used to work as a therapist! I saw many people who sabotaged themselves, in spite of amazing talents and incredibly hard work, because they felt they didn't deserve to enjoy anything.
Maybe the question should be something like:
"How much do you think your skills and hard work are worth?"
Or:
"How much money do you want".
To answer your question, I believe I'm worth as much money as I decide to make my goal. Which is currently 1. enough to take care of my pension, 2. build a new home in Central America, and 3. give enough money away to family/friends/charities to make a significant difference in their lives. On your poll that came out to "$2M - $10M".
