    HI welcome to YE!
I think it is too early to be judgemental about the 9-5 work schedule . Nevertheless this proves that you are willing to do something in order to guarantee future success.

Most teen entrepreneurs I have met have once had a go at selling on ebay. Trust me you will loose and make money on ebay, and do not be scared it is normal for most green hands.

Next, if you choose the ebay road, you will need to find something you can sell and make a decent profit margin from it. Whatever you choose has to be something you can:

1.Have easy access to at a reasonable price.
    2.It should not be illegal.(obvious)
3.It should be light enough in order to post it with ease without inconvenience or the need of a warehouse to store them.

You can then test your product by buying one and trying to sell it. This will enable you see how much you can sell it for. You will also need to do some research to estimate how much you might be selling your items at the end.

For a start this is all I can think of. I'm sure soon enough others kind members from this forum will correct/add more information to this.

ok thanks man that is some good advice. um what i was saying about the 9-5 is that i was just judging that on my work experience which i cant really call experience since all i did was stack shelves but i guess thats all they had free. and i guess i could sell on ebay but i was looking into the more direct route of either selling in my own business or starting my own online business where i can trade. if you have any ideas on that i am always welcoming on new thoughts.

    thanks for the advice

Like stacking shelves you where being taught valuable entrepreneurial lessons such as "No sweat, No sweet"
And selling on ebay or any other such as amazon will help you wet your feet. It will help you study the market, trends, how to price your articles, and a lot of experience which will be beneficial when starting off alone like you say.

Anyways this is just my 2cents

heres a tip. Almost everything you see on the YE forums, especially the opportunities people are trying to present you are 98% crap. Dont expect to come on YE and find the golden opportunity(however that doesnt mean it isnt there

I would not comment on that. I personally thought I was helping a newbie who wanted to go into selling online.

Seems like my help was not appreciated.

correction on my part. when i was referring to opportunities i did not mean your advice on the ebay thing. I was referring to people looking to form partnerships or get you to invest money in their idea here on the forums.

    A suggestion

How about starting a business around something you like to do or are passionate about.

When you get started, you're going to have to work very hard at it to get it going. It might as well be something you love to do.

Also, one important thing to remember. In order to help yourself, you need to help others. If you're going to go into business for yourself, you can't be focused on the money. You need to be focused on producing, providing, or servicing something or someone that will benefit. The money comes as a result.
