If you have a great vocab people subconcsiously think you are smarter and hence are more likely to grant you success.

Just having a large vocabulary isnt good enough by itself you have to no how to use it. If i was a teacher talking to a kindergarten class using highly sophisticated words it would be useless because they wouldnt have a clue what im talking about.

I agree with what Dale said that when you deal with other people always show respect and treat them the way you also want to be treated.

One more thing, you can't please everybody so if they still telling you hurtful words just ignore them. Their opinion doesn't matter as long as you know in yourself what is true.
