    "Guru" Forum?

I have noticed that there are a lot of BS threads here lately or just threads that don't have too much content, or a lot of people are just newbies who talk talk talk but don't have any actual business.

What do you guys think about a Guru forum where people who have some business savvy and are not the dreamers ? Or even if they dont have business savvy but have a business and are learning as they go.

I hate cutting through all the fat and it seems like most threads about about wishes on wishes. Very few with actual content.

Just my two cents. I still love YE.

edit: the forum would be private

Yeah, I would like to see that as well Phrank. I noticed a sudden spike in new members posting introductions as well.

In their signature, some of them advertise something. I was thinking that maybe a bot was automatically creating members and posting an introduction just to advertise...

Or maybe i'm just goin out on a limb with that one... Anyway, I would be up for the "Guru" category that you talked about...

Yea, that would be nice, but whatever you do you are still not going to be totally able to stop the spammers and people that truly don't have anything to say. I like YE. I mean some of threads don't have much content, but that is just the way forums are.

Its possible, make it invite only. Have a simple qualification thread where they intro themselves and the mods ask questions and if they dont have proof or the lingo or any sense to themselves. its easy enough to find out in a few sentences. I would def be down for that.
The only conscern would be for the teenagers that need advice.
Find a way to allow them to get advise or be on a trial period. I cant say that I dont say things that are retarded. Or that I dont rub people the wrong way. But its easy enough to tell, after a short time.

Great. I hope I can make the cut. I really do have a business. I've seen a forum degenerate into tons of spam for MLM junk and a core group leaving and setting up their own forum, and blocking everybody but themselves and their proven sycophants. The problem with any forum is that the MLM zombies will use it to pimp their scams. When I called them on it, I got threatening PM's. They refuse to stay in a designated area. Since MLM is a pyramid scheme, their "success" depends on drawing anybody and everybody into the pyramid, therefore they spam heavily. If you've ever ended up with a friend or relative who gets heavily into MLM, you know how the relationship degenerates into sell sell sell.

By the way, the new and improved Peace of Mind Friendship Site Page Evaluations is under development, and should be up in a week or two. If MLM zombies can pimp their scams I can at least pimp a real business. Thanks to YE for all the feedback.

This sounds like it will be interesting. I hope that I can make the cut as well.

Although I guess we shouldn't complain too much about new member introductions....that mean that the forum is growing!

True, but growing with humans and growing with spamming robots is two different subjects

So what about individuals who have just recently free'd up the time to play a positive part in a community such as this... But haven't been here for months or years?

My fiance and I have taken quite a few leaps of faith recently, and are gaining so much momentum now, that we seek to share what we've learned and gone through with people. That whole giving back bit... While being able to learn and grow, ourselves.

If all the "Guru's" post in their own forum... What would new people learn from this forum?

    OnTheWayUp: Good point.

SOCMiles: Well I don't think that all of the guru's would stop posting here entirely. At least, I hope not. If I make it through, I know that I won't.

TheBigIdea: Sounds cool, please keep us posted!

Maybe we can make the "guru" forum public but you can only post if you have the status?

As far as determining I would say it would be an individual review on a case by case basis. Obviously some people are going to rub each other wrong but for the most part I would say if they have something to benefit then they should be allowed!

I myself am very outspoken and I love it when people from different points of view tell me what they think because it lets me look at a problem from a whole different perspective. I would still love to help out the newbies (hell I'm still a newbie) but I would just want to weed out the riff raff. The quality of threads seems to be dying.

OR! We could have a forum that has threads where useful information has been said (nobody could post it on it) Think of it as a "best of craigslist" only best of YE. And we could nominate threads.

Just some thoughts. Keep it up YE!

I think YE 3.0 will be great from what I've heard. SOC Miles, I doubt most of us will only stay in the guru area... I like to see what's going on all over.

I am excited to see the YE 3.0, a private area for the people whom are considered more productive for the forum will be perfect. This way YE still gets the same amount of new-comers, and the more frequent posters get a place to get information they can be in need of.
