Good article, good advice in it. If you want a real charity case from rags to riches go with Opera she was a drug addict in her 20's now look at her.

err, is there a reason why his head has been photoshopped into that photo?

... definitely adds credibility to the story (sarcasm)

Oh wait, it's AOL. Never mind... add an extra "sarcasm" tag above

    Great article though!

jimmye, "futuremillionair"... DO NOT listen to these kinds of articles since if you really believe what these people say, you are likely to wind up with no education and dropping out doesn't mean you will be successful. I don't know if people writing these articles realise it, (or if people like Alex Tew realises it) but when you write articles like this and make stuff like the MDHP you are really stuffing alot of people up, because people quit their jobs and drop out and when you do that you're taking a huge risk. Most people will tell you you need a good education, the vast majority of billionaires where well educated whether you want to believe it or not. And like nado above said... this doesn't seem like a credible article anyway.

If you're interested in entrepreneurship you should do both, you can still find time to try stuff while studying but just dont look at exceptional cases and think they have statistical meaning! I'm telling you this just so you dont mess up the rest of your life dropping out and winding up in the street when if cant make it in business.

Lol Ill believe in whatever I want to believe in. I am currently at Uni so no need to worry, I read in a book once however the most successful people in the world took the biggest risks and if you want to ever "make it" in life (me making it may differ from yours) then you have to take big risks. But meh whatever suits.

I agree that we do tend to hear a lot more about the success stories of school/uni dropouts who make it big in business, and a lot less about those that fail.

This could be due to two reasons:

    1) The online media is restricting these stories, although surely with the advent of blogs there should be no restrictions. Where are the "I dropped school/uni, tried to make it big in business and failed miserably"? ... I would love to read about these stories to learn from their mistakes.

    2) The majority of those who do drop school/uni to pursue a business actually succeed if not on their first attempt, but following attempts.

I think these type of stories provide motivation to young entrepreneurial minds, and let them know that if school doesn't suit them, they don't have to follow the traditional career route and can lay their own road.

Dont get me wrong, education is important and information in this age is valuable... I just believe young people who are intelligent enough to know their own abilities and make their own choices should be able to.

On another note, I think the article had more to do with the ethics of business than being a rags to riches story. Toward the end there is a big emphasis on helping others through your business and the profile you inevitably establish when building successful businesses.

    cheers
