Got engaged!!!

Tally one on the board for Love!

Just thought I'd let all of you "extended" family members know that I got engaged over the weekend. Exciting stuff!

I'm working on a wedding page too, it will be http://wedding.ericesquire.com for now (just the home page so far) - but we'll soon have our own domain name. More information to come (if anyone cares to know!).

May 22, 2005 - yes you're all invited, VIA WEBCAM!!! LOL

Ben - there's nothing to be sorry about...when it's there, you'll know it, and it's the greatest thing in the world. I couldn't be happier.

Marriage is the best. My wife and I have been married for five years (oh man, that's half a decade). It has been great. There are tough times but they would have sucked without her. All the best to you. Family is it. We now have a daughter that is two. Everything else in my life can fall to pieces and sometimes does, but when I get home and see them it all goes away.

God Bless your marriage.

This is why I love this place - thanks everyone for your nice words, it means a lot

I believe entrepreneur's are only as strong as those around them, most importantly their significant others - they have the most influence. If you find a good one, stick with them, it really helps!

It definately was...

For the past few weeks I've had the ring and have been mulling over how I was going to ask her. I had no doubt she'd say yes, but I wanted it to be perfect. Everytime I thought I was on to something, I thought about one aspect of it that made it not perfect. I kept thinking that what I wanted to say wasn't good enough. I realized that if I kept on this path I would never get the job done.

So my solution: We went camping last weekend. It was a gorgeous day. I took the ring out of the box and put it in my pocket. I asked Diana to go for a walk with me to take "pictures." We found a rock we could climb to and sit down on that was in the lake. So we did, as we were sitting down, I pulled the ring out. After we sat down I couldn't get it back into my pocket if I tried...and I would risk dropping it. It had to be done. And it was

It was sort like putting the proposal gun to my head - it's amazing what you'll do when you put your own back against the wall.
