Lightbulb Gorilla marketing on the ground

So many people want to stay attached to their computers and figure out how to market on the web. While I agree, there are many other ways to market. Go where the people are! Get yo ur butt out of your chair and go out and meet people LIVE! I have so many tricks and stories that make on line marketing sound like childs play. The benefit of the web is clear but gorilla marketing on the ground is more fun and gets you more "hits". Go to a major event with some piece of desirable marketing material and start handing it out to unsuspecting people. Some will blow you off and some will ask questions, but they will remember you for sure. I have traveled the globe gorilla marketing and I am easy to find on Google but the best contacts have come from one on one directect human contact marketing. Both are necessary but if you find me at some convention center speaking to 500 people, you can bet that it happened because someone met me or heard me speak. Spend the money and go out and give some promos away.. You will be glad you did.

    Ken,

I'm glad you brought up this point. Social media makes life so much easier for entrepreneurs or anyone remotely associated with business for that matter. But like you said, social media isn't the only thing out there.

You have to get your butt out there and do what you need to do (i.e. network, promos, etc). Social media is great, but it doesn't entirely replace the more traditional tactics.

If you rely only on social media you definitely aren't seeing the BIG picture. SM is another tool to add to your toolbox. Learn the more traditional tactics and you'll be well rounded and ready for anything.

Again, glad you brought this up.
