    Going to Film School

Hey guys, this April I am going to film-school to get a certificate in film-making. What do you think? Will I learn anything that's applicable toward business? I was going to take a 2 year course in business operations but I decided to do something different. I think going to film-school will teach me to manage people and small projects; I'm not sure though.

    Has anybody here ever gone?

    Wow! That's so cool!

    I'm happy for you harry.

Just do your best in Film School.

I once have this fantasy of making my own documentary about the life here in the Philippines but I guess it's not yet my time.

Anyway good luck on your studies.

    You can do it!

If you want to learn how to manage people and small projects, you need to do that first hand. A school can only teach you theoretically how to do that. Experience is what's important.

I wish you the best of luck!

Relevant Sidenote: My roommate's dad is actually the producer of the NBC comedy "My Name is Earl".

    Great choice

Movie producers are the role models of entrepreneurship

They start with nothing and have to leverage dozens of resources against each other to get films off the ground

If anyone ever has to point to the definition of a skilled founder - a movie producer is the ultimate example

This is the kind of post I like replying to, Good Luck!

Creative arts fit right into entrepreneurship, it will teach you management skills and help you to become more creative, and at the same time building up a wealth of knowledge.

It will take you far, go for it!
