This is my first post, so let me introduce myself:
My name is William and I'm a 1st yeat student in electronic engineering from Belgium.

I am taking a course which is giving an introductory to economics and business.
I have an assignment where i have to contact a foreign (not from Belgium) entrepreneur
and find out about business negotiations/meetings in his/her country. So what better place to start looking than this forum?

Absolutely ideal would be if someone here had experinces with doing business in Belgium and another country so that a comparison could me made, but I'm happy with anyone wanting to be of assistance

There are two specific answers which i want to have answered:

1. What are the local customs/habits in your country during negotiations/meetings that are specific to your country/region (anything from whta drinks are served to who's in charge,... )

2. What customs/habits/gestures can lead to misunderstandings, both in national negotiations/meetings as international (because of cultural differences etc.)
Anekdotes are greatly appreciated.

I have to write a short essay on this (1-2 pages) in which I interpret your answers and draw a comparison with business in my country.
