Hi fellow YE's,
I fell in love with the idea of making money online about 2yrs ago. I had a concept, a good business plan (so i thought) and so much passion and drive....in retrospect I was also extremely naive. Two years and a lot of money later, my site is still not finish, nor has it made any money while it has been sitting there. After so much frustration with my web-designer (who was extremely unprofessional) and so much time spent on planning (at the expense of my university degree)...i lost all hope. Now I am finally starting to get back into it again and feel the passion for my idea like I had before.
I now realize that there were probably a few ways I could have made money while my site was being developed...but i suppose that is how you learn. One thing I have definitely learnt is that you can not have everything ''perfect". If I had spent less time trying to make everything just the way I wanted it, I could have invested more time into other aspects of the site. So currently I am looking for a new web-designer to fix up a few major issues (a reputable off-shore i'm thinking)... and doing as much research as I can into affiliate marketing. The only frustrating thing is when you have people asking you,'so is your site finished yet...?' Further to this people not understanding that for some of us this is 'our job' and not some silly little project (not that I have made $$$ yet so I guess that does not really apply to me :P).
Just wondering how many of you actually only work from home and not have another job? Have you found it easy to keep a balance between spending time online/on your business and making time for other activities ....do you miss being in a work environment with others?
cheers
