So I'm super creative, I literally see opportunity everywhere but it seems like everyone I talk to is telling me that dreams are just dreams and to just get a job and forget about anything that i can imagine, and it's getting to me...

let me see if I could help. first whats your creative passion ? what do you like doing?
then check what the market may want . then start a spoof activity to get their attention
from there if they like it you have a market.
other wise get a job in the same line.
same with me after graduated in 2007 I have no direction even I got my first job it only lasted a few months but 2008 is here im planning to start a new direction
any thing else you could email me <mayc2k2002@yahoo.com>
Mmm, my creative passion is DEFINITLY art, i love making it i love learning about it, i love everything about it. what do you mean a spoof activity?
I see a empty room as a chance to create, im definitly a creative thinker
Any successful entrepreneur will tell you to not listen to anyone, no matter who tells you what. Your dreams are all you have. Obviously you need a job to pay bill for the time being but if listen to other people youll end up just like them. They tell you not to try because theyre scared to do it them selves.
i love the people in this forum
Try reading Rich Dad's Success Stories. It's not another boring repeat of Kiyosaki's ideas but a 2003 book full of the success stories from followers of his. I especially liked the three young 20somethings in Salt Lake City who couldn't find real jobs after college despite having stellar grades and impressive sounding degrees. One of the two brothers found a job in San Francisco, but was dumped after 10 months. The other brother couldn't find anything, and was married to a young woman who could only find boring computer programming work that didn't pay much and was soul devouring in the same manner as the jobs held by the characters in Dilbert. She finally quit her job and decided to become rich. Of course, she and her hubby nearly starved before they figured out a way to profit from the housing boom, and had to endure EVERYBODY telling them to just go get a job.
I'm going through nearly the same thing, my parents were government bureaucrats and are on me to find work. My business is almost ready, but all they can think about is a job. I'm disabled and nobody will hire me, so I did the logical thing and hired myself. I can't believe how people think that you're worthless if nobody will hire you. Maybe you have a disorder (I am autistic) that is a big scarlet letter, maybe the boss only hires people from his own ethnic group or even his own extended family and his friends (I hear about this a LOT!). I've heard of whole departments in California's vast bureaucracy that are just all one ethnic group with one family holding the vast number of jobs because somebody made manager and proceeded to dump everybody else and hire all his kin to sit around and talk with each other all day and then hired a few fellow (insert ethnicity here) to shoulder most of the work.
The working world is tremendously unfair, and discrimination is impossible to prove unless you have a tape with the boss making discriminatory comments about you. The elite like to keep things this way because if you're just trying to survive and keep from getting fired you can't ask questions about big issues like why is Russia talking about retaliating if W puts a "missile shield" in Poland, they want you to be shocked that you're vaporizing because you had no idea that they were playing games with human existence while you tried to survive.
If you're a creative type and want to turn that into your source of income, look for things that are commonly used, but are arse ugly.
Mobile Phone skins are a great example. Out of nowhere, this whole industry blossomed up, and people started making these ugly squat things look great.
Look into a site like CafePress. Basically, you upload designs, and then place it on items of apparel.
It's a good place to start, although eventually you should probably branch out into something that gives you more direct revenue.
The difficulty there is market saturation, so you're going to need to think of a clever way to market your clothes better than other people.

Makes you money, Makes me money...
Do not let anyone who is putting you down affect you at all. You need to be around supporters. Strive for your dreams at all cost. A little research. a little creativity. You will find something. DON'T give up. : )
Pay attention to the opinions of people you trust, but ultimately do your own thing.
It's probably inevitable that you will need a job to at the very least pay the bills, but that doesn't mean you can't start planning a business. Goodluck, trust your gut
You have to balance the need to eat with the need to satisfy your soul. However, don't let the dream stealers win! Go for it! As Joseph Campbell once said, "Follow your bliss!"
Good luck!
