Fake yellow pages and their sales agents

I'm currently being harassed by a sales agent for one of those cheap giveaway yellow pages directories that shows up on people's doorsteps every so often. He first called me a month ago, trying to sell me an ad. I told him that I didn't have my state license to be a computer repairman yet, so I hoped that would be the end of it. But sure enough on April 1 he rang back. I was in Nevada when he called and didn't get back home until 4pm, so I got a very cryptic message on my answering machine. So I called him and sure enough it was the yellow pages guy. He was badmouthing my marketing plan and urging me to pay $175/mo for a tiny ad (3x5) in his book. I don't have that kind of money. AND I know that those yellow pages are useless. I finally told him to call me back on Monday. So I have until Monday to figure out how to get rid of him. How do you deal with this stuff?

If you wanted to get rid of him then why are you telling him to call back? I'd tell him to f**k off and that should be the end of it. The moment that you give them any form of hope they will not give up on you. Unless you explain very clearly to this gentleman that you do not require his services he will pester you indefinately.

Exactly what my comment would have been.
But yes seriously tell him to not bother you again, because you are not interested, especially after he puts down your own marketing plan.

I had just gotten home after driving for 8 hours straight and was not thinking clearly. On Monday I will tell him that I'm not interested, the end. Fortunately this is the worst that I've been subjected to. These people apparently got my info from the city business license department, the city sells their lists.
