Facebook seems cool
Hi all, I signed up for facebook tonight. It seems like a great place to meet people with ideas.
Does anyone else here use facebook? Any tips for me?
I don't have any friends yet, so if you want, add me

It's a good place to hang onto contacts. It great for keeping in touch with old friends, or anyone in general. Get the right people and you have some great contacts. Also sent you an add request.

Social networking sites are the next big thing, they are huge cash cows just waiting to be milked.. and boy am I hungry for some of that Milk!
Social networking sites are almost like an Internet unto themselves.. start thinking creatively now and you might just be able to make your fortunes...
I have a few ideas up my sleeve.. watch this space

Facebook is great mainly for keeping track of and in touch with all your friends. It's a priceless resource for most college students in the country.
As for business though it isn't as useful. They have a small, limited marketplace that I have sold and bought textbooks on that could be used to help run a business. Also if you have enough friends you could start a group pitching some product or whatnot. Other than those options though it's not that useful for business, Myspace would probably be a better option.
For me personally, I use facebook so much for personal reasons that I wouldn't use it for any serious business.

Facebook is free to users. The cost you pay is ads. Millions of users pour their life into it each and everyday. By disclosing their interests, habits and what they like and do not like, where they travel, who are their friends etc. making it a gold mine for data mining, wise marketing companies can take advantage of the huge wealth of information accumulated over the last several months.

Just a silly metaphor.. didn't see the need to use 'official buzz word' jargon to describe what I was trying to say..
damn.. what side of the bed did you get out of, take it easy.

probably making up an account that was strictly business.. the thing with facebook is that you cant be as direct as myspace like that. You could create a group or events that are business related and send them out to everyone you know.. but unlike with myspace you cant just start randomly friending. You can start small and if word gets around more and more people join the group.. maybe offfer incentives. Get creative people! facebook and other social networking sites are only going to get bigger
