Hello everyone!

I recently had a conversation with my girlfriend about the differences between normal people, and entrepreneurs. I posted an interesting prospective on a blog of mine. It's kinda long, so instead of copy and pasting it I thought I'd post a link.

I'd love to hear your thoughts/ideas on why people like us are so different from others!!

Most entrepreneurs (true spirited entrepreneurs, not just a typical business owner) want to solve a problem. They believe that their brain and effort alone can solve the problem no matter what it is. Income is simply the scorecard that gauges his success.

Now don’t get me wrong, we want nice things in life, but those nice things are for us…not just for arrogant purposes of showing off. If you have read The Millionaire Mind by Thomas J. Stanley, you know that most truly affluent people drive simple cars, wear simple attire, and clip coupons.

I like the challenge of making my idea work, and I am comfortable putting my livelihood on the line to make it work. Most people would freak out if they didn’t know when their next paycheck was going to come…me…I love the thrill!

I agree with all of you... Sometimes we take a little more risk especially when the there is a chance of much greater return. When it comes to money most of us aren't focused on how much we are making, but rather how much we are saving.

This isn't my quote but its a good one: "The only way to increase your success rate is to increase your failure rate." I believe it was the president of IBM

We don't look at it as failure though, just a learning curve to try again.

Crysco, that quote was in fact the IBM guy. He said the way to increase your success, was to double your failure rate...like you said, we don't view that as a failure.

About two months ago, I met with an Angel Investor. This was my first meeting with an Angel, and everything I heard was true. You have about 15 minutes to WOW them.

The guy I met with was one of the origional investors of FaceBook (good investment!). To make a long story short, he turned down my proposal. He did give me reasons though.

I actually remember smiling when he told me no! I don't know why, really...but I didn't see it as a failure. I learned a lot in the process. I have revised my "60 second commercial" and I'm ready to do it again. I have three other interested investors currently.
