    Entrepreneurial Education / Business Education..

    Hey.

Currently i'm 15, and i'm interested in business and plan to become involved in the 'world of business' in the future. I'd like to become an entrepreneur, and am curious as to what education is best for this?

After looking around at business universitys, it seem the main business degree is an MBA (Masters of Business Administration), is this a suitable degree for an entrepreneur? Are there any specific entrepreneur degrees? Do entrepreneurs generally participate in further eduation? (University)

What do you learn in an MBA course? (What areas of business does it cover)

Also does anyone know what is required to enter the higher business schools? e.g, Oxford Saïd Business School, London Business School etc.. (I imagine it costs alot of money?)

+ if anyone has any other information or advice that may be useful concerning what i've just mentioned, please post it!

    Thanks,

    Robin

On your journey to get a MBA comes a stop... that stop is to FIRST get your Bachelor's Degree in Business Adminstation/Management. That's the first step, then from there on its on to getting your MBA.

    Thanks,

In the U.S. you can get your Bachelor's Degree first (or you can get your Associate's Degree first.) A concept many people mistaken is that you need an Associate's before getting your Bachelor's Degree which is not true. The highest degree you can get I believe is a PhD (or Doctoral) degree.

I recommend doing an undergraduate degree in something you enjoy and then going to do an MBA in business after you finish that (it's only a year on top).

I believe that there is no such thing as teaching entrepreneurship there is more to entrepreneurship than you think and it's not all just aload of information in your head it's also about the person them selfs, also 99% of entrepreneurship is learned though expirance I don't know how you can teach expirance I mean the real world isn't in a text book.
    Regards, Chris

That list is from 1997 and the survey was taken in 1994...isn't that a bit too outdated?

Does anyone else know where to find another list that is newer? I tried Google but can't find the right keywords

This is true. I have researched a lot of these entrepreneurial things. A good amount of them are extremely similar to a business administration degree as far as what their courses entail except maybe the last 5-6 courses which focus more on how to write business plans, idea analyzation and all of that.

I say get a degree in bus administration and if you want you can always take a few courses from an entrepreneur thing at your or another college. Also get an MBA if you can, it will assist your pay grade wise greatly, and just in general.

In the end a business admin degree is worth more to companies then an entrepreneurship degree or certificate to boot. That will be useful if things don't work out for you running your own business or just in general.

Most of what you learn about entrepreneurship that separates itself from business administration can only be learned, really, through actual experience, 1 year of running your own business is worth twice as much in knowledge as 4 years in college getting some entrepreneurship degree, certificate, whatever. Bus. Administration will handle the rest of the details, to help get you started on your way to getting that experience.

The best education you will receive is that which you will give yourself.
