    Email address problems?

I am experiencing a similar problem with email to that I have with phone numbers, I don't know how to organize and use them. I have a personal account at gmail.com, and one with my name in at gmail.com, this would be my business email. However, would this look unprofessional? My main problem is that I would be starting more than one company and be involved in several projects. These would all have different company names, so I couldn't really use myname@somecompany for a different company to that one. I don't want to have a different address for all my companies though. So, which address should I use? Also, what address should I use to contact suppliers before my first company is in existence? I am very confused, can any one offer any advice? Also, I want to get this email on my phone.

What you could do is make a webmaster or yourname@yourcompany.com on each of your business websites and set your options to redirect all of your mail to your personal account, then, if you see an email you need to respond to, you can go to that mail account and respond. I hope this helps.

I suggest in my own opinion, making a parent company and using the multiple companies you'll be starting as subsidaries... example: create your parent company first (should be the easiest since your company is only serving as a parent to your subsided businesses.) Make the domain (youname@yourparentcomp.com) and create a new email with your subsidized company (for example, Project 1 will be project1@yourparentcomp.com --- Project 49583958 will be project49583958@yourparentcomp.com).

That'll help you to keep them organized and receive all your emails to one address... if you want to get sub-technical with it then add a "_accounting" or "_technical" addition to your subsidary company name in the email. Examples: project1_accounting@yourparentcomp.com --- project2_maintenance@yourparentcomp.com

EDIT: A different way to do the department thing with your emails is to request that when "they" (the people your working with) send you an email... add to the Subject line "ATTN: Accounting" or "ATTN: Technical" and have them mail to your subside company email. EXAMPLE: Somebody needs to contact your Accounting department for Project 1, they send an email to project1@yourparentcomp.com with subject line saying "ATTN: Accounting" --- or second... somebody wants to get your technical support for project 50000 so they send an email to project50000@yourparentcomp.com with subject line being "ATTN: Technical Support"

That's just my .02 cents, its up to you if you think its the best idea.
