Has anybody looked at today's (Monday 5/18) WSJ yet? Apparently Donald Trump is suing some dude who wrote a book about how Donald is only worth $250 million. Donald gave a deposition about how he values his empire, and it's eye opening for us little entrepreneurs who have worshipped this guy since we were kids. He values big projects in his mind. Some of it is based on feelings. If he rents his name to another developer who slaps it on a building, Donald claims ownership of the building. The upshot? He's far poorer than we've been led to believe, and a lot of his "empire" is based on braggadocio. So we have a guy who styles his apartments in Louis XIV style so he looks richer than he actually is. And with the real estate crash, many of his projects are struggling. So he is basically broke. And we worship this dude as an avatar of capitalism?
