    Dog Rental Business

I am sure everyone has seen the beer commercial where they rent puppies to pick up girls.

I googled to see if anyone has done it and apparently its legal and popular.

I am looking to go into a new business venture here where I live in Naples, Florida.

What do you all think about this idea?

Could be popular amongst young men but i would imagine some people go against the use of dogs as a financial aid. And dogs cost upwards of $200 nowadays? How many people would have to rent off of you in order for you to regain that investment? Plus costs of keeping the animals.

It's unique as a business venture i'll give you that, maybe it just takes someone to take the plunge to set off the market. In my honest opinion, there's too many risks, such a business would demand round the clock work. And legally, how would you keep tabs on this sort of thing?

It doesn't seem that reasonable. I saw the commercial too, and I definitely find it creative, but renting puppies seems odd. I can't see someone actually profiting from that. Pets are not necessities, hence renting them would only be to people who like dogs. Those people probably would just buy a dog, unless they are going to test out a specific breed of dog for a weekend.

You never know though, could catch on, and become some new craze. Best of luck with it man!

It would never work, not enough people would be interested in renting a puppy. Besides, you'd get huge outcry against perceived mistreatment of the dogs. Just like puppy mills their is way too strong an incentive to mistreat the animals. The less you spend on the animals well being, the more you make. The profit margins would be slim even if you treated the animals horribly.

And even if you found enough business and treated the dogs reasonably well, there is the ethical issue. I mean you have a dog that you never intend to put in a permanent home with a family?

Yeah, I don't imagine you'd be too popular with the girls yourself if word ever broke about that.
    Interesting idea though!

What about an idea to rent out babys? Saves the money spent to babysitter and parents (including your commission) can profit out of it

It seems very hard to make a profit out of, unless the dogs live in terrible conditions. Do you have a good business plan set up? You'd have to train the dogs very well, feed them, keep them very well groomed, etc. And looking after lots of dogs is quite hard!

I can't even fathom what your insurance would cost. Can you imagine if one of your dogs bite a customer or an innocent 3rd party?
