Then we agree, wealth is limited, it simply changes hands from one person to the next.

If we have 10 gold bars in existence then only 10 gold bars can be given out. If that is the basis of wealth, then wealth is limited to 10 gold bars. How you get the 10 gold bars into your possession is unlimited, but the actual wealth itself is a quantified amount.
