Do Commercials Persuade You to Buy?

So I just saw the Progressive commercial - and we all know they have a few different commercials out there - all of them using the same out-going, quirky, a brunette play-off of Phoebe off friends character ... and it had me questioning - do these commercials help sway people to buying their insurance over other insurance just because of their commercials?

Have you ever seen yourself going out buying a product, say a laundry detergent or even a pack of gum just because you liked the commercial?

I will admit, I am guilty of going out and buying a certain product because the commercial has sold me. What about you guys?

Yeah, sometimes. Though, I don't watch too much TV.

If anything, it just makes me research the advertised product or service more on the internet.

Not so much for me. Normally if I think a commercial's funny, I laugh and that's it. I don't rush out to buy their product. Not that I haven't, but I don't normally.

Sometimes.....
Depending on the product. I'd more likely be easily persuaded to purchase food than insurance based upon a commercial.

You may not even realize it, but by watching these commercials over and over you subconscious registers it, and when you got to the store you will feel more familiar with that specific product.

This is part of it, But then you have to understand why they advertise.

You advertise for 3 reasons

-Persuade
-Remind
-Inform

Mos Companies don't try to persuade, but inform.....inform.....then fit in a little remind.

No one likes to be sold especially now a days.

People, like to be helped
