Who else on here feels what he was doing a while back? I think he is a very good businessman what you guys think?
Who else on here feels what he was doing a while back? I think he is a very good businessman what you guys think?
Sorry, I don't even know who he is!
Dame Dash... awwwwww man, as I said in the other post, he is one of my role models among Jay-Z and Sean "Diddy" Combs, although I'll never understand why exactly he fell back, but I still think in a way if Dame wanted to, he could give Jay-Z a slim run for his money.
BTW... Russell Simmons is cool, although he could do a better job with the whole "Phat Farm" thing, its played out anymore if you ask me.
Yeh Mr. Simmons coulr really do better with that Phat Farm thing. Anyway back to Damon Dash, i think he is a better businessman than Jay-Z, Jay is not as half as a good Business man as Dame. But dame should have not sould his part in Roc-A-Wear just yet because you see Jay just sod roc-a-wear for like 200 plus million i think, if Dame had stayed in he spotlight a little longer just long enough to lunch his CEO clothing line he would have been better off. Pro Keds are doing good because it has been around for a while, but dame needs to get back on his hustle and start making that money again.
Afraid not.![]()
OK well search for him, on the internet
Honestly, as much as I hate to say it, in rapping lyrically, I don't like Jay-Z that much... but as a businessman I respect him. Let me tell you why... him and Dame Dash are both good, they both are making money but why I say Jay-Z and Dame are even is this:
Jay-Z has his own Crayola color! WUT THE HELL.
Google it.. Jay-Z Blue, and Chevy (I think it was) made a "Jay-Z Edition" SUV... WITH THE Jay-Z blue... OMG, its crazy honestly. But yeah, to be honest, Jay-Z is quite the character and I respect the guy for what all he did for the children in Africa.
By the way, Daniel and Mike... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damon_Dash --- that's Damon Dash
Here is the article on the GMC and Jay-Z Blue thing.

My Role Model Scale, right now
1. Russell Simmons
2. Diddy
3. Jay-Z
4. Damon Dash
Russell Simmons is everywhere now (new book, rap beef, run's house, political bs, charities, etc.) I agree phat farm is kinda wack; I prefer Sean John over Roc & Phat F. Dame is last on my list because he fell back on me, in 2006 he was #1. His wife Rachel R. gets more shine than him right now. I been reading a lot on Jay-Z messing up w/ Def Jam.
I dont care for any of these guys music anyway, just their businesses. I listen to mostly reggae now, because of this new bullshit hip hop phase (Country-talking, Dancing, Loving, wannabe, bullshit).
I'm inspired by these moguls daily.
>Plus they are all Blackberry users.
^^ Either way, Dame Dash could still make a huge return though if he wanted to, he could slide in easily. I listen to the new hip-hop, not all of it is negatively influenced though, some have positive messages. Dame Dash is sort of like me compared though (cause he is business minded, at the same time he's really comedic) --- ever saw the interview with the one guy, him and Cam'ron had a blast with him. The news guuy... hilarious stuff.
Jay and Def Jam... I don't know if thats a smart move, time will tell. Now, Sean John... I would choose over Rocawear because Sean John has a wider selection of apparel instead of just urban apparel, they also offer casual and suits, etc.
I like Russell Simmons somewhat good marketing tactics, he made Phat Farm big (although the apparel itself isn't the best.) Either way, he did a hell of a job for himself, and he got Kimora's products out somewhat too.
I keep seeing pictures and magazine. ads, Dash Incorporated.
>Prokeds, CEOs line, Tiret
Watches, Damon Dash Collection.
So he is obviously making moves fashion wise, but where is it? I guess he might be doing it more on the low. I would kill to wear his CEOs clothing. Tiret watches cost too much for me. I would like to where his suits to.
With the music thing I dont really care about the content of negativity. I just care about material, to me it is wack right now. I prefer more NYC/northern music. What is crazy is, I'm in the south.
With Sean John, I just feel extra fly w/ it on, even if it is a plain tee.. Unlike rocawear & phat farm. I think that Baby Phat might be the main/only thing holding phat farm up.
you see the CEO line will not be stocked at the moment, the retailers are waiting till it blows up. But the prokeds line you can find around and it generates millions of dollars a year for him, the watch line i dont know to much about it. But trust me if he wanted to make a big comeback he could.
Dash Incorporated is still around, always will be man, I mean, he's was just as much of a owner and businessman of the Roc then Jay-Z was, why wouldn't he not be around still.
And I agree, the Tiret watches are hot, its ridiculous how "flossed" out they really are, but I couldn't find any prices when I searched for them, maybe I'll do a little more later so that I can get a idea of how "expensive" they are. Now let's talk about Sean John... I am with you on that, Sean John always give you that extra "business status" look, but I want to see what the CEO line is all about, if we keep this up, I might start a new venture... offering the CEO line, Ralph Lauren (yeah, it was a hip-hop fashion statement at one time), Sean John.
Anyway, Dame could make a big comeback into the public's view from being on the low lately... and if I had to, I'd anticipate him doing it. So even at a small place like here... Dame if you read this, show everyone what you all about.
By the way, need I bring up his OWN social networking site... BlockSavvy.com --- or what about him having his own movie productions (Dash Films), oh my God the list could go on, so when it comes to my standpoint of who I think are the best in the market right now... it'd be surprising to see it like this:
1. Dame Dash - Why? Because the guy just has too many ventures right now, each with so much potential. Think about it... Dash Films, Tiret Watches, CEO Line, Pro-Keds, BlockSavvy, etc. As I said, the list could go on for days and I think he has tactics to building his empire.
2. Sean Combs - "It's the D the I the D the D the Y... its Diddy, HOLD UP!" Anybody remember that song? Anyway, Diddy falls in 2, he has been in the industry for more then 10 years (which I believe is longer then Jay.) He has his own clothing line, an EMPIRE record label, a movie production company and 2 restraunts. Who said Diddy wasn't that fly. BTW... for the record, he is the first richest hip-hop entertainer according to Wikipedia with a net worth of $346 Million!
3. Jay-Z - What many thought about Jay-Z is untrue, people believed that he has the biggest bank roll in the hip-hop industry *WRONG* As Jay-Z may have his own color and everything else (including Beyonce)... sorry Jay, your in third with only $340 Million dollars net worth.
4. Russell Simmons - Russell, you got it going on with the office, and owning your own record label as well as having your own clothing line, but maybe a few more ventures will bump you a couple spots. Your net worth is $325 Millions.
NOTE: Understand that I don't have Dame Dash's numbers for how much his net worth is but we know one thing, with as many ventures and empires he has, we're sure of one thing, its got to be something pretty damn high. I'll keep researching the number but for now, Dame has got his career's game face on.
EDIT: I got the numbers, unfortunately, Dame fall's in fourth place bumping Russell up to third, Jay to second and Diddy to first. But still, I believe Dame has a better chance, for the time being, I'll leave it like it is. Here is a link to the "Top 10 Richest Hip-Hop Moguls." http://www.gangwatchers.org/H-Top10.html By the way, who would've knew Ice Cube could make it to the top![]()
