    Coke?

Im just a bit interested and curious by this.

    Coca-Cola formula
    Main article: Coca-Cola formula
The exact formula of Coca-Cola is a famous trade secret. The original copy of the formula is held in SunTrust Bank's main vault in Atlanta. Its predecessor, the Trust Company, was the underwriter for the Coca-Cola Company's initial public offering in 1919.[13] A popular myth states that only two executives have access to the formula, with each executive having only half the formula. The truth is that while Coca-Cola does have a rule restricting access to only two executives, each knows the entire formula and others, in addition to the prescribed duo, have known the formulation process.

How does coke get away with selling a product that doesnt list it's ingredients or formula anywhere? How does anyone no what we are actually drinking and how is this legal?

    Anyone have some insight?

because formula is a process. They dont need to tell the formula because the process isnt what presents concern to the public, its the ingredients.

It was this post that got me thinking about it

    Cocaine energy drink help

A new product gets reviewed so much but something that has been around for a hundred years doesnt get looked into at all.

There's alot more that go into coke then wats on the label there just the basic ingriedents.

Why are they allowed to keep the formula and processes a secret. Are there little ompa lumpas stomping the coka beans with there feet?

Name a company that tells how their food is made? There is none. Why does Pepsi not tell others how their drink is made. The ingrediants are right on the can, but those are worthless without the amounts used along with the process. Watch the movie Cola wars I think you would like it. It is common knowledge that any major scientific lab could easily tell how coke is made. Coke is what it is because of the way they market their business.

They have a good reason not to tell the public of the process. It's their brand, their product differentiation. It's what makes Coke as the Coke we know. How would you feel if you made a product, only to hve it copied by another company when you released the process of making it? And what if this copying company got more fame than you (as the original maker) did? What if that company got the first patent for it?... so on and so forth...

It's also to protect their business, you know. And if there's some lumbo jumbo happening with Coke, you can be assured that we're not getting poisoned by it.

I understand why they have not told anybody, what i don't understand why they havnt had to tell somebody.

There is no way that i could launch a new drink product on the market in todays society without telling how it is made and what exactly is in it. I'm not only picking on coke i just used them as an example.

Coke purposly never got a patent so no one would no the recipe.

It just annoys me that im getting a new product developed at the moment and the amount of stuff i have to go through with it in regards to safety.
