While this post has a negative tone, it does make a very important point that is relevant to negotiation, which was discussed in another thread.

In the other thread, the original poster requested information on how to negotiate, adding that he knew some "good strategies" already, like "walking out of the room to make the other side concede."

As shown here, if you're going to threaten to "walk out of the room" and actually have to do it because you don't get the result you wanted - in this case many members begging Dale to stay, I assume - then upon your return your credibility is shot...you are the little boy who, as Wowzerz puts it, "cried wolf."

This really isn't meant to be negative, but to be a learning experience for everyone, which is why I think we're all here.

I agree with this statement. And I assume that it was not directed at my comment, since my comment did not "question" or "ridicule" Dale, but rather positively used an example of the effect of certain actions on credibility, as they pertain to negotiation strategies.

Awesome post Dale and welcome back! For a little bit I felt bad, thinking I may have been the cause of your leave from the forum. If I did discourage you from spending too much time here, I apologize. But I don't apologize for taking advantage of opportunity, because that's what entrepreneurs do.

Doesn't anyone see what he's doing? He's not coming back to the forums. He's just posting his articles here because it gets exposure for him and his site. If he were back on the forums he most certainly would of posted a response by now. Of course, he only would of responded to the people that said "great article, dale", "thanks so much, dale" and "you're a genius, dale", but he definitely would of posted something.
