Don't tell Carol about these compliments though...don't want her to get lackidaisical and stop turning out the quality (between me and you) Tell her she needs more detail so the product improves more. Some guy on a forum saw flaws in the pictures. (Just kidding)
I would say you should take 3 pieces, design patent (do it yourself) simple....then call it patented or pending (means special...artwork like a numbered piece etc.) and try and sell through high end department stores.
You should also approach large companies for them to give employees after 25 yrs. etc. Bonuses....whatever. The ring may even say 3M or Dell (company name)
Another thing, I have a list of the top 1500 CEO's I send them postcards. I make them at Vistaprint.com (cheap) Strategically mail a few out to researched names. Guess you are getting some sales out of me one day.

Hey Ron,
Yes, I have to keep that girl chained to the bench and down to earth! haha artist, what can I say?? But, I try to keep that struggling spirit alive so she can stay sharp and on her toes
perhaps you recognize the amount of effort that is put into our work along with the effort it took to get to this level and relate this to your own efforts, struggles trials and tribulations and ultimate successes... ?
a lot of people who have built their dream lifestyle and business and struggled through and enjoyed the entire experience (on going as it may be) aren't going to settle for something "off the rack". it's more an individulist kind of thing...
their jewelry purchase isn't about glitz and buying something that is shiney for the sake of the shine...or because it fit's on their credit card or because it's popular or even available...
to many, it's more of a symbol to celebrate a life's accomplishment... something that represents some definitive period of time... worth remembering .
walking into a business meeting wearing such a symbol of accomplishment and experience and wisdom and class is almost always immediately recognized by people of like mind. and makes it incredibly easy sizing up your opponents.
Like a university ring without it being pretentous... like the difference between the .39 cent "tin" american flag lapel pin that is made in china... even the president wears, and our $12,000 platinum patriot ring made in America... and by the skilled hands of a master goldsmith.
THis is the difference between something made for you to spend your money on (because you bought the hype) and something made "for" you (because you bought into yourself)
and, I have to say, dealing with successful business and professional people who are all at a point of life when they are reaching the apex of their carreers is quite an enriching experience... and makes my job so much easier
when the first question isn't "how much is this" but rather "how nice can you make this".
ANyway, We probably can't handle 1500 custom orders since our yearly production is maybe 35 pieces ( we would be old or dead by the time we get to the last guy) but maybe a few of your favorites...
And don't forget that old saying... behind every successful man...
THanks again... (and we really aren't that expensive)
