I currently pay 50 bucks a month for AOL Broadband Cable...with AOL, you have to use their software browser thing to sign on and you have to leave their screen filled with memorywasting but sorta useful pictures and stuff on at all times. When I play games online...like Counter-Strike...I experience loads of lag. Most people I know have like 20 ping with Earthlink or RoadRunner while I have pings around 120. I think it is because of the AOL software taking up resources. Or maybe it is the cable...What do you think is the problem? I also have a crappy video card so that may be a reason...I am thinking about switching to Earthlink...21.95 first 6 months and then 42 bucks each month after..or Roadrunner..45 bucks a month. I can't stand AOL any longer! Does anyone else have AOL?

I don't have AOL, but what I do know is: AOL sucks!

Go with the earthlink!

First of all ping rates depend on more than just your speed. How fast can you download and upload files? I can get about 30 kbps but that's what I pay for (even though I'm not the one who pays the bill).

Second of all anything around $50 is a heck of a lot of money per month. That's $600 a year just for broadband. Go with earthlink and you'll pay less than half that. Check out www.dslreports.com for reviews.

What kind of computer do you have? If you have a fast connection but slow computer you will get lag. Go with earthlink and use the money you save to buy a new motherboard, processor, and video card, lol. You shouldn't need anything too powerful to play cs. And you'll still have some cash left over.

You know, if your computer is too slow (I need to see the specs 1st), I would be more than happy to build you a new one for a discounted rate (First of all, you would get a discount for being a YE member, but you would also be my first customer!) How much would you want to pay for a new gaming system? My high-end systems are running $2400, before discounts, but I'll custom build you anything you want (well, almost anything - I don't do supercomputers!
