Biz. owned

I see and have met a lot of you, and there is a lot of people who come and read but never post any replies to anyones topics, so I am hoping that all of you will take a quick sec. to reply to this post topic. I want to know all your companies and what they do, or any biz. ideas you have that are really cool. Think of it as advertising your company for free. I just read a lot of your answers to my post, and I have no idea what your companies do. So please just click on reply and just write what your companies name is, and what your company does, or post what your idea for a company is. I posted my company, and you would not believe how many people contact me about helping out my company. I also have people calling me and asking me to buy products from my biz. so see it will help you out a lot. I just like to read other ideas that young people have came up with. Thanks I hope you all will reply.

My main profession is a professional trader. I trade in the propietory account with www.greentreetrading.com out of san fran. thru ABN Amro. and am seated on the Pacific Exchange. (at least i hope that is why they needed all that paperwork and my finger prints ) Im my own boss so i am still considered a entreprenuer i guess.

I am currently starting a Pet supply and specialty store. I carry over 3k pet products for dogs, cats, fish, birds, reptiles, to small pets. I consintrate more on the specialty products though. That will be my ninch. Prducts like: anything costumized, fancy clothing for animals, homemade bakery treats for dogs, etc. It is called Paws Up Pet Supply. I have always wanted to own a store that concentrated on pets....now that i have more time and money i decided to start it up.

My company

My company is called Digital One Technology and we specialize in entrepreneurship training, computer training and web design. We are currently in the Chicago area teaching computers and entrepreneurship to high school youth and adults.

I am the CEO of the company and my goal of not working on fridays or working before 11am is starting to come to light. I do have people that work for me earlier then 11am and on fridays but I dont want to work that early.

Hi,

My company is Go Out USA .INC

We are a national internet site (www.gooutusa.com) that uses comprehensive database technology to provide users with a search engine designed to look up restaurants, bars and clubs in the United States. As well as any other interesting information which has anything to do with going out (limos, taxis, movies, concerts etc.).

Our site then provides a detailed page for the desired venue, featuring pictures, maps and other usefull information.

Where is the money making side to this ? is probably the question that you are asking yourselves. Well we charge a small subscription fee for all companies listed on our site so that we can offer the service to the public for free.

Feel free to e-mail with any questions regarding this.
(we are looking for national reps. Great opportunities are available.)

(please note we are not live yet so don't be dissapointed we will be soon.)

My company, Synergy Visuals (www.synergyvisuals.com), does integrated marketing communications from Vancouver. I started it from scratch a couple years ago.

After my design and marketing school years, I worked days in print production and nights as a freelance designer as I slowly bought production equipment to cut my outsourcing needs. First was the vinyl plotter - for making signs and decals, then I bought a digital colour laser printer - top of the line canon clc 1180 which does short run brochures, cards, collateral materials, etc. Im now looking at purchasing a solvent based wide format printer - good for vehicles, outdoor prints, displays, etc. This is just on the production side.

Teamed up with a couple of good people (people will make or brake the business) and we now specialize in planning out brand positioning and marketing communications strategies, then designs and produces everything in house. For companies that can't afford all of the market planning, at the very least they get expert advise and all of their marketing needs designed and produced from one place.

The advantage is that we have complete control over all of the companies contact points it has with its intended audiences. No mixed messages, one message working together with everything controlled. Aside from the message, we also control the consistency, end project pricing, timing and quality of everything.

Summary is a complete marketing, design and production department with all the extra's. I'm 26 now and finally, after a couple of stressful startup years, I can say that the company seems to be coming together and progressing as planned. I intend to use this company as leverage for other business opportunities and/or future start up's.

..Mike

Promotional Products

I own www.KeenPromos.com. We provide 1000s of imprinted promotional products. There are many players in this business and our main competitors are ePromos, Branders, etc. Both are the "Amazon.com" of promotional products.

Rather than assuming that all businesses have a large marketing budget, our approach is to personalize our business to each of our customers--trying to provide the perfect promotional product for their needs at affordable prices. We tailor mostly to small and medium-sized businesses and businesses that are just getting started.

Our customers know us for our great customer service and quick response times.

Hi Deric - welcome to the forum!

If I had to go up against the market leaders I'd adopt a strategy similar to that too. Sometimes it's best to pay that little bit more and get the service that goes with it!

That's a nice looking site you've got there. Good layout and design. The only thing I thought it was lacking is back/forward buttons at the bottom to allow you to move between products in a category. It's hard to imagine what a lot of them are, so to be able to step through them one at a time would be very useful.
