This is off-topic, but yes. The Giants are going to trade Jeremy Shockey. However, they're not going to just give him away. You don't just give away Pro Bowl tight ends. If the Saints or anyone else want Shockey badly enough, they'll have to up the ante. If not, we'll keep him and repeat. But my gut tells me he's definitely going to be traded - probably to the Saints. Saints coach, Sean Payton loves Shockey, and Shockey loved playing for Payton, because he was more involved in the offense. Under Giants coach Tom Coughlin, Shockey is more of a blocking tight end and he hates that role.

Yeah, but that's what's so amazing about the guy. He's always hurt, but he still keeps making the Pro Bowl every year - except for last year. Love him or hate him...the dude's a freakin' stud!

These are secrets that now, have been given out to help other entrepreneurs. Before this article, people didn't know about them. That would make them secrets. I guess to make you happy they should rename the article "Former Best-Kept Marketing Secrets" or "Previously Best-Kept Marketing Secrets".
P.S. Thanks for the great info, Dale!

I make an issue of it because there are too many slick operators online that promise "secrets", and often charge for them... and a lot of good, but naive, people get burned by it.
If I were to offer you "the secret power of living healthier through oxygenated water", and then gave you a bottle of tap water I'd distilled, you'd be rightfully pissed off. Why? Because it's not a "secret", to anyone with a basic education, that water has oxygen in it and if you drink water more than soft drinks you'll be healthier for it. It's just water that's been evaporated and therefore is purer, having a higher oxygen content by percentage... but call a spade a spade: it's still just water.
You'd feel like I'd tried to dupe you, or have some ulterior motive for the action.
It's the same deal here.
These aren't some wonderful "secrets", like blackhat methods of getting your eBay listings into the eBay Pulse list, or how to manipulate tax laws so you can make a movie that bombs and still earn money from it, or how to get money by reversing the scam back onto 419ers.
It's information that's readily available. It's good information. I'm not denying that. But it's pretty much false advertising to call them the "best-kept secrets"...
It gets people's hopes up, and hopeful people get burned.

Harvey, I feel really bad for you that you're so cynical and disillusioned, you can't even find value in FREE information. So sad.

The amazing thing is that most of these are common sense. We just think to deeply into it and forget about the basics that drive our business. Keep it simple and watch yourself grow.

Are you kidding?!? Slick Operators? For crying out loud, it's a freakin' marketing article! And it's FREE!
Your "oxygenated water" example is not in any way similar to this situation. The "super water", or whatever the hell you called it, was only tap water and never was secret water to begin with. That was a scam.
In this article, those secrets were secrets! The title was 100% truthful.
Also, I don't know if you have ever read a newspaper or magazine before, but writers use catchy titles like that to attract readers. It is marketing and it's perfectly legal. Think of it as a sales pitch. What, are you going to tell sales people they can't try to showoff products to customers at their store because that would be "hype"? Hype is marketing, hype is what sells! Your example wasn't hype, it was false advertising. Big difference.
All I can say is your response was terrible. I would debate this further with you, but I don't want to turn Dale's thread into a flame war. You are wrong though.

Hehe, just let him be. He may think free information is garbage. I am finding out that most people think you have to pay for something to get anything of value.
Take a look at all of Dale's Posts and you will see all he does is help us with useful information.
Thanks Dale! Your marketing information is a big reason I drive 120% increase in traffic to my websites every month.
